I remember viewing my first modern home that was built in the smallish town where I grew up. There is a mountain on the east side of town where large homes were built. It was the premiere neighborhood in our town because the views are incredible.
Far up the mountain in the late 80’s a family built a modern home that deviated from the usual West Coast style of homes that were popular on the mountain. The sparkling new white cube-style home with cliff-edge pool shone like a jewel on the mountain. I was smitten… and often went up the mountain to enjoy the views and the homes.

Modern container house

We’d be remiss to not include a container house that is done in a modern style. While container homes aren’t everywhere, they are growing in popularity due to the low cost, eco-friendly nature to them (reusing materials) and the cool look you can get. The one above is designed by José Schreiber Arquitecto in Argentina.
