Welcome to our gallery showcasing this spectacularly modern house in Sai Kung, Hong Kong, by Millimeter Interior Design.
Nestled in the verdant hills of the “Back Garden of Hong Kong”, this 4550 square foot home was completely remodeled, creating a striking, open, and tranquil living space. Millimeter transformed an impractical split- level into a pseudo four-story home, incorporating a garage, large living room, family room, two small bedrooms, two guest rooms with one guest bath, helper room, primary bedroom suite with walk-in closet and den, and an open roof top space with spectacular ocean and garden views into the design.
In reinventing this house, the intention was to optimize and harmonize its use as both a comfortable home and an inviting hub for social functions.
Split-levels are often handicapped by a layout dividing the home into several distinct “boxes” that make connecting spaces difficult. In an effort to enhance the visual and ambient interior space, the designers gutted the original structure, crafting a unifying new space in the process.
Being a cordial host to house parties, the owner wanted to provide ample space for guests. The ground floor stretches from the entrance out to the backyard deck, separating interior and exterior spaces with a large set of foldable glass patio doors.
The kitchen was cleverly extended downward into the foundation, allowing a clutter free design that incorporates all standard essentials. The dining table is similarly retracted in the floor and can be elevated when in use. The most striking feature may be the indoor glass garage design. This injects a unique edge into the raw and modern styled home, and allows the owner to showcase his formidable vehicle.
This practical, ultra-modern home works in perfect harmony with its design to elevate the specific lifestyle of the owner it was designed for. Being one of the more striking homes we have featured, we hope you are as intrigued as we are.

First floor is a large open space with living room, dining area and kitchen… and then there’s the glass garage viewable from much of the home’s interior. It’s a good thing this homeowner owns a ferrari, which is great to look at (if you like a Ferrari).
