Every tap is a design answer.
How a home-design site turns millions of quiet reader choices into honest, data-backed design answers.
How the site works
Two layers, one site
The content
Room tours, kitchen and bathroom galleries, house plans, design systems and guides. The part you came for: ideas, inspiration and the occasional cautionary tale about a renovation gone sideways.
The reader signals
Underneath every gallery is a second layer. Small, one-tap tools let readers say what they actually like, and those taps, added up across a very large audience, reveal how real people feel about colour, layout, materials and style. That is the raw material for our research reports and for the guides that say “readers prefer…” instead of “designers say…”.
What we measure
Small taps, big picture
Every signal below is optional. If you never tap anything, nothing is asked of you and the articles read exactly the same.
❤️ / 👎 on images
The simplest vote there is. Do you love this kitchen or not? Thousands of these tell us which rooms, finishes and palettes connect.
Save this
Saving a room to your own saves panel is a stronger signal than a like. Your saves stay in your own browser; we only count that a save happened.
Settle It polls
One-question polls under images: white oak or walnut? Shaker or slab cabinets? Open plan or separate rooms? You see how other readers voted right after you tap.
“Why?” follow-up
After a ❤️ or 👎 we sometimes ask one quick reason: the colour, the layout, looks easy to keep clean, wouldn’t suit my home.
Hot or Not
Two rooms side by side, pick one. Head-to-head picks rank images far more precisely than single votes.
Reading behaviour
Which images were viewed, how far down a page readers scroll and how long they stay. Standard page analytics.
Privacy by design
What’s recorded, and what never is
Recorded with a tap
- A random session ID, created in your browser. It is not linked to your name, email or any account.
- Device type (mobile or desktop) and how you arrived (for example Pinterest, Facebook or a search engine).
- An approximate region (state or province), read from the network edge when the page loads. We do not store your IP address.
- If you arrived from one of our ads: the advertising platform’s own aggregate audience breakdown for that ad (the age-range and gender mix of everyone it reached). Never anything about you personally.
Never collected by these features
- Your name, email address or any account.
- Your IP address or precise location.
- Anything you type.
- Faces or identities. Images are described by their attributes (style, colour, era and so on), never by who is in them.
Newsletter sign-ups are separate and handled by our email provider. Advertising and analytics partners are covered in our Privacy Policy.
From taps to findings
How results are published
Added up, never singled out
We only ever look at totals and percentages across many readers.
You see the live split
Right after you vote, once enough readers have answered for the numbers to mean something.
Research needs hundreds of responses
Findings such as which cabinet colours readers are moving toward, whether a double vanity is still a must-have, and which kitchen styles age best in readers’ eyes are only published when the sample is large. Small groups are never reported.
The results come back to you
As better guides and research articles on homes and interior design, grounded in what readers actually chose.

The findings on this site are the short version. The complete research reports, with every chart and the data behind them, live on our Substack.
Your choices
Taking part is entirely up to you
Simply don’t tap. Items you save live in your own browser, so clearing your browser storage removes them. For advertising choices and cookies, see the Privacy Policy.
