This home boasts spectacularly inventive design ideas within its bright open plan layout.
A combination of unique furniture and minimalist surroundings results in a striking interior design.
While many modern home designs utilize bright white walls, not many use it so effectively to expand visual space and create a welcoming atmosphere.
This Australian home meets the pristine white walls with bright natural hardwood flooring, a combination that adds warmth to the light and anchors the broadly laid-out rooms.
With an open-plan center comprising the living room, dining, and kitchen areas, the home welcomes visitors into a vast space replete with carefully placed furniture. The functions are divided by color and open floor space alone.
Sleek, hardware-less cabinetry, modern minimalist furnishings, and large windows define this social area. It’s an open canvas, ready for a family to make it home.
Elsewhere in the home, color becomes more prominent. An upstairs recreation room appears decked out in bold green flooring.
The expansive, bright interior is wrapped in a much more cool and reserved exterior, with a dark grey-brown box structure.

The dining area is defined within the open space by the stark white minimalist table and matching chairs, next to a cozy window seat. Full height cabinetry is subtly tucked into the wall.
The table is subtly topped by a white marble slab, integrating a sense of luxury without standing out ornately. On the far wall we see built-in shelving next to the full height cabinetry.
In the other direction, we see the minimalist kitchen, defined by the large white island with built-in sink and seating for in-kitchen dining. A white subway tile backsplash adds some more textual nuance.
In the kitchen, we see sleek white countertops and a black oven with gold hardware, completing a very high contrast look. The sliding panel door in the background adds to the contrast as well.
Upstairs, we see this recreation room flush with bold green carpeting. The vaulted ceiling is crossed with white exposed beams, hanging far above a sparse set of furniture that allows for plenty of activity room.
The green carpeting extends to a small study area, with a uniquely modern-rustic styled white and natural wood desk beneath a set of cubic wall-mounted shelving.
The hallway in the bedroom area of the home boasts a more traditional look, with subtle molding on the walls and more rich natural hardwood flooring.
The bathroom is awash in white large format tile, from the flooring on up. A simple floating vanity hangs near the walk-in shower, with no dividing enclosure between.
The exterior of the home is a more boxy, simple looking design, with a shape that conceals the broad, open plan design within.
