However, this design is versatile as it can be adapted to a variety of kitchen styles. Farmhouse, Mediterranean, or Southwestern kitchen designs can also have rustic elements in them by using the right type of materials, colors, and furnishings.
Rustic Colors
The colors found in most rustic designs are earth tones. Along with earthy colors like brown or tan, they can also include blues, greens, gold, and gray colors as well. These colors are found in the undertones of wood flooring and cabinets, the countertops, and in the furnishings found in the kitchen.
If the cabinets or walls are painted, then they will usually be white or a light earth tone. For instance, light blues and greens are popular choices due to their earthiness. To get more ideas about using earthy colors, here are some rustic kitchen design ideas.
Types of Rustic Materials
