Welcome to a special gallery featuring the beautiful traditional yet contemporary Surfside home by Fredman Design Group.
This fantastic home is of mixed materials including natural stone and reclaimed wood. The styles of this home shift slightly between very traditional–almost Old World–and more contemporary.
For example, the formal dining room and foyer are in stone and rich dark solid hardwood, with classic, traditional furniture silhouettes, while the kitchen is utterly contemporary.
Keep an eye out for some of the most stunning architectural features of this home, including the stone wall with candlelit alcoves in the foyer and the rolling bookcase ladders in several of the rooms, including two of the bedrooms.
Above is the formal dining room, which embodies the mixture of traditional and contemporary design in this home. Notice that the dining chairs are mismatched–some are very ornate, while others are upholstered in a complementary, but not matching, fabric.
At the far side of the room is an open hearth wood-burning fireplace.
Keep an eye out for these, and many more, details while you peruse this beautiful home gallery. Enjoy!

The enormous wooden double doors that mark the entrance to the home lead into the natural stone floor foyer. To the left of the doors is an antique wooden bench.

An iron and wooden door just past the bench leads to the main floor powder room. On the wall beside the bathroom door is a line of broken bits of heavily textured pottery.

The inside of the powder room continues the same style as the foyer with aged natural stone floors, a reclaimed wooden vanity and a brushed bronze sink. The ornate tile above the vanity is uninterrupted by a mirror. The mirror is instead on a small holder beside the sink.

Down the hallway is the amazing stone wall with built-in alcoves that are lit by pillar candles. This wall, so close to the entrance, sets the atmosphere for the rest of the home.

A closer look at this kitchen nook. The sections of butcher block settle nicely into a lip around the sink, and act as a simple, easy way to add countertop space where needed.
