The Home
The home is set on 5 acres, with ski-in and ski-out access. It is located in Park City, Utah, and set in the Alpine mountains. The mansion itself is 17,000 square feet. It takes full advantage of the breathtaking view, with many rooms featuring glass walls.
It has 7 bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom, terrace, and fire pit. There are three additional bathrooms, a library, and indulgent recreational options.
It was built from Shou Sugi Ban charred cypress. It features a copper roof and Croatian limestone. These materials, along with lots of glass walls, allow it to look perfectly at home in the mountains.
The mansion also features a panorama tower, which offers a breathtaking 360 degree view of the Alpine mountains.
Featured Rooms
The primary bedroom combines modern aesthetics with the warmth you would associate with a ski chalet. The floors, walls, and ceilings are all made from rich wood.
A blue wall over the bed offers a sense of calm. The chandelier over the bed is very modern. Paired with a hanging round chair, it offers the best of both worlds.
The modern meets classic theme is also found in the living room. A glass wall provides a spectacular mountain view. It has rich wood floors and a fireplace that give the room a cozy, yet open vibe.
However, the lighting is unique. The furniture is custom made, and was originally modeled in 3-D. It has flowing lines that allow the view to be the focus of the room.
Recreation
For those cozy evenings, the mansion features a home theatre. It has wood walls, lush carpet, comfortable seating, and a large theater screen.
The home also has a bowling alley. It features wood ceilings and floors. The warmth is enhanced by a large mural of the alpine mountains.
If that’s not enough entertainment, check out the activity room. You can go rock climbing, play tennis, or a game of basketball.
The terrace spa offers a breathtaking view of the mountains. You can keep the chill away with the large fireplace also featured on the terrace.
Prefer to swim indoors? The indoor pool has a glass wall, so you can enjoy the view of the slopes while you are swimming.
When you are ready to relax, the massage room has a large salt wall. It’s spectacular, and is said to increase air purity and reduce stress.
The Record
The record for the most expensive home in Utah was last set in 2019, when a home sold for $32 million. Guy Russell’s purchase shattered the record. The home was originally listed for $42 million. Russell purchased it for a steal, at $39.6 million.
Guy Russell’s Claim to Fame
We’ve discussed how Guy Russell Weiner made his fortune by creating Rockstar energy drink. However, the story behind the story is inspiring.
Guy took his idea for the drink to every investor he could find, only to be turned down by all of them. Instead of giving up, and depriving the world of feeling like a rockstar, he funded the project himself.
After a mortgage on his condo and lots of hard work, he eventually sold his creation to Pepsi Co for nearly $4 billion.
