I love this l-shaped mansion in South Africa whose interior was designed by ARRCC.
L-shaped houses are great because they create a nice private backyard – a perfect “nook” for a swimming pool and patio.
It’s a sprawling 3 story mansion with a view of the ocean. The property is sizeable as you can see and includes extensive patios (covered and uncovered) with a large swimming pool.
This project was an extensive renovation of an existing home. The third storey was added. The interior was totally renovated so that it’s now updated, comfortable, modern and spectacular.
One room I really like is what I call a “book club” meeting room. We feature it below. It’s the room with 6 funky modern chairs in a circle around a small coffee table. When I saw that room I thought “what a terrific place to host bookย club meetings.” There’s no TV or other distractions in the place. It’s a nice, quiet, comfortable room for casual conversational gatherings.
Of course, there’s much, much more to this mansion than simply offering a comfortable conversational gathering room.
There are multiple “living spaces” including a formal living room with an incredible view in a large great room space as well as a family room. The home also features a sauna, home gym, large, modern home office, beautiful bedrooms … with incredible views from almost every room.

The sauna is big enough for 3 people.Like pretty much every other room, the home office looks out over the ocean. This home office has two workstations and a reading chair. It’s definitely minimalist in design.Look at that balcony and view from this contemporary primary bedroom that’s spacious yet not cluttered.Here’s the large gallery style hallway in this mansion that leads to other parts of the home. The wall art is definitely interesting with it’s texture, grey, black, white and gold.
