At first glance, you may think that this charming Craftsman design by Architectural Designs is an original, well-maintained Craftsman from the early 1900’s.
In order to come up with the very specific design ideas, we create most designs with the assistance of state-of-the-art AI interior design software.
From the rafter tails and the roof pitch to the style and size of windows, the exterior details are uncanny to traditional Craftsman models of the past.
The Entrance
As you look at the front of the home, you are welcomed by the classic Craftsman covered porch, perfect for warm weather, with unique columns.
When you enter the home, the foyer follows the traditional Craftsman floor plan of a staircase to the left and sitting rooms (like the den or living room) to the right.
The Garage
Some homeowners love the look of a separate garage, others would rather have it “out of sight, out of mind.” Architectural Designs have done a wonderful job of nestling a three-car garage into the design. At first glance, you would have no idea that the house has such a spacious garage.
Open Floor Plan
The den and main floor Primary bedroom are private and tucked away, but the kitchen, living room, and dining area is open and feels spacious.
While this particular Craftsman design lacks some “open flow” features like high ceilings, the main floor is open and cozy. This type of floor plan is perfect for family gatherings and small get togethers.
The fireplace adds a nice touch of warmth and a cozy feel for family game night or a quiet evening at home, alone, with a glass of wine and a good book.
The cabinets and other features, such as the wooden mantelpiece, are a nod to the iconic built-ins of the original Craftsman design but are updated for a more modern look and feel.
The Bedrooms
The Primary bedroom has a beautiful vaulted ceiling as well as a walk-in closet and a full, private bathroom.
The two of the bedrooms are adjoined by a shared bathroom (perfect for kids), while the other bedroom has its own private bathroom, which would make an ideal guest room.
On the second level, there’s an open space that overlooks the first floor den, making the space feel open yet private.
