From tall, redwood cylinders to narrow steel and wood-clad boxed forms, this challenging site has now permanently been transformed.
The original unfinished 1970’s home has been replaced with this stunning alpine getaway. Views into the backyard begin from the entry door and lead one up the timber and steel stairway. These views into a forest preserve are also captured from every room in the house. Most inspiring is the view from the great room past a “heritage pine”.
The four suites include a bunkroom suitable for sleeping, playing and schoolwork. Two simple roofs cap the entire home. The shed roof over the great room angle down the front of the adjacent dining room and create support columns for the covered entry.
Weathered Utah barn wood and rusted corrugated metal adorn the home’s exterior and blend it into this beautifully wooded site.
