Gray is one of those fantastic colors (or shades, if you want to be picky about it) that can work in any room, at any time, anywhere, for any occasion. Gray can be cold but it can also be warm. Gray can be dark and it can be so light it’s almost white.
This versatile shade is an excellent one to choose if you’re looking to re-do your primary bathroom. You can use nearly any accent color if you’re looking to use gray as well, and it also allows for you to get really funky with the accessories and decor if you so desire.
We’ve prepared a fantastic gallery of 26 gorgeous gray primary bathrooms to help you along with your revamping journey, and we hope that you find some inspiration here. Please enjoy this gallery of photos and a little intel into why these designs are working.
1. The Gray Galore Bathroom
I’m always so impressed when a room design can be both super modern and classic at the same time. I think designers are capable of doing this by using classic colors and concepts but combining them with more modern shapes and high quality materials.
This primary bathroom is doing that by using a modern shaped tub and a very luxurious walk-in shower to bring the look into modern day. Light gray walls are warmed up in a lovely way with wram, tan colored floor tiles, and even further so by the smaller tiles found in the shower.
Everything in the bathroom is very sleek and sexy with stainless steel accessories and simple lighting. A generously sized skylight brings in an extra beam of natural light which we always love. This look is simple and effective.
2. The Utopian Gray Bathroom
This is a great representation of doing a lot with a room when you don’t actually have a ton of space to do so. Taller ceilings and little landscape windows at the top of the room extends it even further, increasing the airy feeling you get.
We see so many different textures and shades of gray in this room, with gray tinted hardwood flooring and gray tiling. Here we receive a bit of warmth from the wall color that is an inviting shade of beige-gray.
This is another very simple bathroom design that is cozied up with a lovely shearling bath mat and classy accessories found on the bathroom counter. I think all that this bathroom needs is a little pop of color with some hanging plants!
3. The Regal Vistas of Gray Bathroom
This is a sensible design that offers utility via alcove shower and plenitude of fixtures. Bedecked with lavender and smoky gray fixtures, this model makes great use of dazzling accent lights. Here we receive an incredible bathroom design that is not restrained by small space.
Darker gray accents work wonders here when they’re plotted against gorgeous cream colored tiling and warm ivory walls. We see here just how many different kinds of gray there are: dark gray with tinges of blue, warm gray with hints of dark brown, and brown towels with tinges of gray.
This primary bathroom design is wonderfully inviting and cozy. It has super classic cabinetry that is elevated by unique tiling and made personal by artwork, flowers, and other familiar accents. It feels lived in and it’s wonderful.
4. The Swank and Upscale Gray Outlook Bathroom
This design purveys elegance through modern simplicity and a glimpse of the aerosphere. There is a certain uniqueness that comes with rooms that aren’t afraid to play with textures here, and in this room we see nothing but textures working together in harmony.
Light streaming through those corner skylights make one feel like they’re bathing in a sun shower, or you have the option to take a bath in a gorgeous rounded egg shaped bath tub.
When someone says stonework you think of one thing, so I think saying “pebblework” here is a better descriptor. Stunning, small, charcoal shaped stones like the backsplash of the shower area, while horizontally aligned tiles bring a lovely splash of moody blue, and rounded white bathroom features bring some smoothness.
5. The Mesmerizing Serenity of Gray Bathroom
The judiciously designed translucent frosted windows liven up a serene ambience and brilliantly placed gray wall contrast with and blocks the austere purity of white and rustic hues. This is a bathroom that gives you the idea that you have a spa in your own home.
Using a texture gray color for the wall here gives a very earthen effect to the space. We see this continued with the use of a lovely kind of raw wood flooring, and with the use of plants to brighten up the place with something alive and green.
There’s something about using white bathroom features and accessories that will always make a room feel super clean and sharp, and this is instance it also brings about an essence of welcoming and serenity. A truly perfect bathroom design from start to finish!
6. The Exciting Panoramas of Gray Bathroom
Though we’re just catching a small glimpse of this bathroom, we get a good idea of how sleek and modern the rest of it will be. I really love it when designers use the same tiling they used for the floor and extend it up to the walls as well.
This is wonderfully sleek tiling is modern but inviting (and not to mention the dark color makes it look newer for way longer than other tiling might look). A generously sized window brightens up the space and so does nothing but white accessories. Leveraging a no-frills attitude, the ashen textured graphite walls are gloriously illuminated by a well positioned window that offers natural vistas.
7. The Exquisitely Gray Bathroom
Sleek and straight line geometry coupled with minimalist design affords spaciousness that is liberating. You know you’ve made it when you live in a home that has a more-than-generously sized bathroom, especially one with a sink so large.
This hyper modern bathroom is just that because of the unique shapes found in the oddly squared toilet, and the uber long and narrow sink area. Clear shower walls are almost invisible, making it feel like the the entire room is one big shower.
8. The Light Gray for Light-Heartedness Bathroom
Clean gray hues lend zest to an almost all-white veneer. Pure white is astutely punctuated by well-placed gray flooring and wall space. Balancing the use of dark and light shades not only create contrast, but it’s a fantastic way to create dimension and extension of space.
I always adore seeing a bathroom that is using tiling for its walls and backsplash. It definitely makes everything seem fresh and clean. Using softer textures found in the bath mat help soften the harsher edges of the space, and classic cabinetry makes it feel timeless and classy.
9. The Serenity Inducing Gray Bathroom
Soothing light gray interior is embellished by the colorโs darker hues quite aptly. Brilliant accent lights extravagantly flaunt exotic botanical specimens, while splashes of exciting yellow throughout incorporate a bit of fun and uniqueness to an otherwise standard bathroom.
Here we have a phenomenal example of using several different shades of gray to create dimension and contrast. What makes an otherwise standard bathroom feel special is an enormously sized tub that is clearly meant for two.
10. The Resplendent Gray Bathroom
Immaculate gray interior looks intriguing against a minimalist backdrop. The ashen gray interior is resplendent under sparkling accent lights. While this is a design that we’ve seen similar renditions to in this collection so far, there’s something that feels slightly elevated in this one.
Though the same slate gray tile is used all over the entire room, downward directed lights illuminate the floor tiles in such a way that makes it appear as though they’re a different, warmer color. We catch glimpses of white accents so brighten up the otherwise darkly themed space, while a rainfall shower head brings luxury.
11. The Glory of Gray Bathroom
Rich gray-veined tiles orchestrate an aura of blissful spaciousness. The walls and flooring are bedecked with striated gray tiles that evoke tranquility. This is a glorious choice of tile both for the floor and the walls as they are quite similar to the marble sink and bathtub, though not exact.
What results is an incredibly cohesive but still texturally differentiating space that feels like a precious little nook. Delicate lighting on either sides of the mirror bring that soothing light for relaxation, while overhead lighting brings the utility aspect. Stainless steel accessories give us a hint of modern design as well.
12. The Multifarious Shades of Gray Bathroom
Even a Spartan interior can be inviting with comforting gray hues. The granite walls and rustic fixtures imbue a retrospective, somber ambience. If this room were just gray concrete tiles it may seem to austere and brutalist, but using a superbly rustic butchers block of wood does an incredible job of warming up the space and making it feel more inviting.
Otherwise, we get nothing but industrial inspiration here, found in the naked light bulbs, super minimalist bathroom hardware like the faucets, and clean white accessories. Now all the bathroom needs is a couple fluffy textured towels and maybe a hanging plant, and the room is well on its way to being cozy.
13. The Multifaceted Versatility of Gray Bathroom
An austerely minimalist environment is brilliantly complemented by gray flooring and eye-catching masonry. There are so many things about this bathroom that are simply perfect, found in the textures, proportions, accents, and materials.
We have a soft texture found in the bath mat to be inviting, we have a bright freshness found in the bamboo stalks, we have luxury found in the modern shaped tub, modernity found in the double sink area, and some rustic earthen aspects with the beautiful stonework.
14. The “It’s Never the Wrong Way with Gray” Bathroom
A touch of soothing light gray marvelously enlivens the prosaic monotony of white. Light gray marble slabs and wallpapers admirably embellish a distinctly white interior. Anyone would be happy in this master bath.
Double sinks leave enough room for you and your loved one, and beautifully textured countertops add a kitschy fun. Though I find the use of bright white a stainless steel accessories slightly too sterile for me, this room is enough of a blank slate that using your own personal accessories that it could really be turned into something special.
15. The Gray Fantasia Bathroom
Here, comfort and utility is complimented by a palette of light gray hues. The light gray textures instil blissful tranquility in the eyes of the beholder. A mismatch of tile textures add a bit of fun and uniqueness, perhaps inspired by Turkish baths.
We have modern elements found in the shapes of the toilet and the squared sinks, while various tones of gray are utilized to create depth, and playing around with warmth as well. This room feels very spa-like, but that could also be because of the plush bathrobes hanging on the wall.
16. The Venerable Gray Bathroom
Tiny gray tiles evoke a modern chic touch to a naturally radiant interior. This stunningly spacious interior is naturally illuminated by strategically placed windows. You cannot find a singular fault in this glorious bathroom design.
Tiny tiles on the floor are wonderfully textured and inviting and guides you towards the open shower room. I love how the bathtub is set way in the back of the room. It invites you to take a hot bath and to sneak in a cold shower after you’re done.
Shelving built right into the back wall is unique, clever, and beautiful, while using wooden foundation for the primary sink area provides a wonderful rustic aspect we feels rather necessary. This is further extended in the use of plants on the marble countertops. Lovely!
17. The Fututristic Outlooks of Gray Bathroom
With well-placed mirrors and ingeniously crafted alcoves, this interior looks far more spacious than it really is. Well-designed recesses, striated tiles, metallic gray fixtures and gray-textured wallpaper impart a distinctly pleasant aesthetic appeal to the gorgeous interior.
I particularly love when a design is using the floor as an opportunity for showcasing. Using unusual but gorgeous tiling turns the floor into a work of art and allows you to be very simplistic with the remainder of the room design.
18. The “Light Gray Will Be The Light of Your Life” Bathroom
Bereft of fanciful frills, this interior purveys an exotic touch, thanks to light smoky-textured gray tiles brilliantly illuminated by accent lights. A plush interior exudes regal flair with just rudimentary amenities.
We can start to notice a trend here where the designer uses the same tiling for the floor and walls which could end up turning into a very austere look, but by adding a wooden element we are immediately invited in, creating a sense of warmth and welcome.
19. The Geometric Gray Bathroom
Full-sized mirror imbues symmetric charm to underscore the enigmatic geometry of light gray textured tiles. Geometric artistry is vividly expounded by the lush gray tiles that bedeck the walls of this stunning interior that astounds with jet black faucets, fixtures and shower head.
Here we see a real balance of lighters tones and darker tones. Darkness is only found in the smallest accessories which creates an incredible and dramatic contrast. Geometric tiles remove the needs for choosing artwork as the bones of the room are art in itself.
20. The Gorgeous Gray Bathroom
Beehive shaped floor tiling immediately invites you in and provides a bit of fun to an otherwise formal bathroom design. Very cleverly lit by way of mirrored lighting and rustic wooden drawers feels even more inviting.
Even under scant lighting the smooth gray tiles look pleasingly refulgent that is blissfully serene to the eye of the beholder. Antique looking fine wood finishing along with smoky ashen gray granite tiles adorning the walls and bath of this interior vouchsafe a veneer of regal luxury.
21. The Delightfully Gray Bathroom
The incisively profound depth of meaning purveyed by this interior is exemplary, considering that it is devoid of meticulously ornate or intricately baroque embellishments. Smooth textured ashen gray tiles emblazon the walls of this lucidly uncluttered interior to put the beholder at ease and instill comfort.
22. The Exquisite Gray Bathroom
This interior blazes forth with hitherto unseen lucidity to evoke halcyon calm. Bereft of ostentations and pompousness this quintessence of simplicity imbues mesmerizing placidity.
(I’m going to be honest for a second here – this your narrator speaking, sorry to break the fourth wall. I’ve been editing this article and some of the previous descriptions are just too good and hilarious to be rid of. I’m going to leave this one for your entertainment).
23. The Eclectic Gray Bathroom
Eclectic contemporary design is leveraged to orchestrate a pacific ambience that is hypnotically exquisite. Scintillating stainless steel faucets, vanity fixtures of rare timber, gray colored granite tiles and a modern opulent faรงade reflect regal luxury.
Small and special details are found all around in the tiny tiling, the fresh vase of flowers, and custom lighting. This is a classic bathroom design that would be sufficient for anyone’s daily needs.
24. The Light Gray Luminosity Bathroom
Sophisticated and yet unelaborated design is the hallmark of contemporary interior dรฉcor as manifested by this model. This lightly colored interior exemplifies the resplendent glory of light gray. Setting a bathtub next to a generously sized window always bring about a feel of serenity.
While we don’t have many unique elements to this room, that wouldn’t stop you from breathing a sigh of serenity when you enter. All you have left to do is decide if you’re going to take a long soak, or a gentle steam in the incredibly set up shower room.
25. The Regal Gray Bathroom
Vintage chandeliers, grayish beige marble, spacious tub, large mirror, marble slab topped vanity fixture and beige textured wallpaper exude imperial splendor. Purity of white has been augmented by the soft exquisite touch of light beige and the most subtle hues of gray to instill an almost soporific calm.
This room is the epitome of combining classic designs and contemporary materials and flare. An outrageously deep bathtub takes up the appropriate amount of space while the sink is more modestly sized. If I had to choose a bigger sink or bigger tub, I’d choose tub every time.
26. The Go For Gray Bathroom
Stainless steel faucet, squeaky clean white wash basins, matt gray tiles, light gray fittings and fixtures look like they are built to last in this low maintenance interior. Unencumbered by overly intricate paraphernalia, this interior leverages orderly straight geometric lines that have tranquilizing effect on the vexed soul.
