The big, heavy console televisions of the past are no more, and with their departure went worries about how exactly to fit your television into your bedroom design scheme. Modern televisions are slender and sleek, can be mounted on the wall, or even sit above your fireplace hearth.
While an attractive TV stand or entertainment center can certainly add interest to your decor, modern TVs no longer have the limitations of their obsolete ancestors. They come in a variety of sizes, brands, models, and price ranges. Flatscreen televisions fit neatly into any decor, and can be found in bedrooms around the world ranging from traditional to modern.
The above bedroom utilizes a beautiful bow front dresser in place of a traditional TV stand. It features dark bedroom furniture, and a complementary color scheme in deep chocolates and neutral beiges. Recessed lighting on the ceiling and soft end table lamps make the room softly glow at night, while the numerous windows allow for natural light to envelop the room during daylight.

The soaring ceiling is a real standout in the above design. It floats proudly above honey hardwood floors, a wonderful sleigh style bed bedecked in beige neutral linens, magenta and beige patterned accent chairs, and a beautiful fireplace. The walls are textured in such as way as to be reminiscent of the woodwork on the bed. A flat screen TV is perched atop a coordinating stand and is visible from both the bed and accent chairs.
Above the beautiful marbled fireplace is a wall mounted flat screen TV, saving space and working as seamlessly as possible into the decor. The TV almost echos the fireplace beneath it, providing an excellent balance in design. Wide hardwood plank flooring and opulent drapery and linens provide a sense of luxury.
This stunning bedroom features a cherry-tone hardwood flooring that complements the darker furniture nicely. A chandelier observes the room below it, while plenty of natural light is allowed to flood through the windows. A wall mounted TV can be seen high on the wall above the inset fireplace and unique mirrored chest of drawers.

Another flat screen television resting above a luxurious fireplace, this example does not appear to be mounted flush to the wall, but rather sits upon the mantle. As with the previous example, a balance in design can be seen.
This larger flat screen is wall mounted on a space that seems custom designed for such a purpose, with the TV sitting perfectly within the white framed space. Dark hardwood flooring pairs perfectly with the espresso armoire and simple bed frame, while the vaulted ceiling gives this room a more open feel.
