Welcome to the gorgeous Hudson (Quebec) residence, a primary work of interior design by Rebecca Mitchell Interiors of Montreal.
A main theme running through this project is the mixture of bold, bright white tones and subtly dark textures throughout, accented via a variety of striking colors.
The home features an immense central living space including kitchen, casual dining, and soaring, two story living room area. Look for details like the catwalk overhead, floor to ceiling glass all around, specific and sharp deployment of tile in the kitchen and bathrooms, and the presence of orange and blue tones throughout.
We’ve also got a full writeup on the spectacular dining room in the middle of this gallery. For more information, click on the designer’s website linked above and at the dining room photo.

Soaring ceiling in this living room accommodates two story windows and an upper floor balcony overlooking the space. Twin white contemporary sofas are paired over black and white rug with two-tiered wood coffee table, with an expanse of rich hardwood flooring.
This seating area stands below a curved array of two story windows, for ultimate natural lighting. This raised ceiling space is shared with a more traditional, large open central space in the home.
Looking directly down on the area, we see the rich, dark hardwood flooring extending throughout the home, into the adjacent room behind glass French doors.
Main staircase is a beautifully curved dark wood design, with wrought-iron railing supports. Landing at a dark hardwood floor, this central hall space features artful metallic decorative table and mirror against patterned wall, while daylight beams in through large living room windows in background.
The dining room features opulent details circling a black mahogany with silver leaf trim dining table over the rich hardwood flooring continued from the central living room.

This beautiful dining room has been featured in Montreal Home magazine and saved to over 20,000 idea books online. While many homeowners love this room, they don’t always love the $40,000 price tag.
Which is why Rebecca Mitchell Boutique sourced from their best manufacturers to recreate the room for much (MUCH) less! The original Hudson dining table alone was $9,000 but they recreated the ENTIRE ROOM (table, chairs, console, rug, chandelier, mirror, artwork and soon draperies) for under $10,000. And this great price even includes delivery and set up of furniture.
RMB will also provide you with paint color options to pull together the entire look.

Kitchen is grand central in the home, with an array of white wood cabinetry circling steel appliances and a large island with granite countertop. Doorways at rear lead to the dining room and laundry room.
Looking down the length of the central space, past the kitchen, we see how light from the massive windows plays on the granite countertops, glass-door cabinetry, and steel appliances. Island features built-in sink and dining space, with a set of white and chrome bar stools.
Close look at the kitchen reveals a multitude of subtle textures. The custom backsplash over the range is a glass, marble and mother of pearl mosaic. The larger tile work to the right under the cupboards are khaki green glass subway tiles.
