What type of catalog is it?
When you request a catalog from Wayfair, you’re signing up to receive the print copy that comes out each season. They’ll mail it to your home where you can browse through all the beautifully styled pages at your own leisure. My favorite Sunday morning activity is to sit down with a cup of coffee and “ooh” and “ahh” over what’s new in the Wayfair catalog. Plus, when you sign up to get the catalog, you can get access to their email newsletters that keep you up to date on their latest sales and discounts.
How to request it
If you’d like to request a catalog, head on over to their website and fill out the form here. They’ll ask for your name and mailing address as well as an email address. If in the future, you decide you don’t want their emails, you can always click the “Unsubscribe” button at the bottom of the email or log in to your account on their website and change your settings. However, this will not unsubscribe you from the print catalog.
How much does it cost?
The best part about the Wayfair catalog is that it’s FREE! Yes, you read that right. Totally free. Zero dollars and zero cents. What’s a better bargain than that?! Okay, well, maybe if they paid you to go shopping with them, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Even if you’re not sure what you’re looking to get out of the catalog, you can’t go wrong just requesting one when it doesn’t cost you anything!
How does one subscribe to the catalog to get each new edition automatically?
Just as mentioned above, simply follow this link and fill out the form to receive your free Wayfair catalog in the mail. It’s super simple and takes just a couple of minutes. Every time there’s a new catalog published, they’ll send it straight to your mailbox. No need to request a new one every time! It’s the best way to stay up on the latest design trends each season and easily see what’s new at Wayfair.
Is it a good catalog?
Seriously, yes. I love this catalog. Not only does it show you the newest items each season, but you can also see them styled in real homes. I’m no interior designer, so I love seeing how their professionals can take a simple throw rug or blanket, and make it a look. I get so much inspiration from the catalog even if I don’t end up buying anything! They also have little tips to help you incorporate the featured items into your decor! Plus, there are tons of great gift ideas throughout and you know it’s always someone’s birthday or anniversary or graduation or new home.
Who can request the catalog?
With some furniture retailers, you have to be an interior designer or furniture maker to request a catalog. Thankfully, that’s not the case with Wayfair. Anyone with a mailing address in the United States can subscribe to the Wayfair catalog. As long as you’ve got that, you’re good to go!
Why request the catalog?
Requesting the Wayfair catalog is a great way to see what new items they’ve got each season, as well as getting some great ideas for how to use them in your own home. It’s also great for those of us who like to go offline once in a while. There’s just something nice about flipping through the pages, bookmarking things, drawing a big ol’ circle around the ones I want to get, or bringing it with you to show family and friends what cool new stuff they have!
How to view the catalog online
Sadly, if you prefer the digital option, there is currently no online version. However, there is a place on their website where you can shop the looks that are featured in the print catalog. Each issue has a photo gallery associated with it. Click on the photo that caught your eye, and it will show you a list of all the items that are featured in that photo and you can simply add them to your online shopping cart. How nice is that?! To check it out, click here.
Other ways to shop Wayfair
Obviously, the most well-known place to shop for Wayfair is from their website. They have over 8 million items for sale so of course, it’s not all listed in the catalog. If you’re looking for sales, clearance items, or browse similar items, shopping online is the best bet. Check them out here.
They do have one retail location (in Massachusetts) and one outlet location (in Kentucky) if you prefer to shop in person and happen to be near one of those locations. Keep in mind you won’t be able to shop the entire inventory of over 8 million products. That would have to be one massive store!
How often is a new catalog released?
There are several issues of the Wayfair catalog released every year. They typically come out seasonally, but you may receive more than one in a given season. Roughly, there’s Spring, Summer, Fall/Winter, and Holiday. However, you may also receive Early Spring, Late Spring, Bed & Bath, Small Spaces, Outdoor Spaces, or anything else they come up with on a given year! It’s a great way to keep up on what’s new each season and keep your home feeling refreshed.
Does the catalog showcase full interiors or just individual products?
The inside of the Wayfair catalog features both images of full interiors as well as individual products. Some pages are partially or fully dedicated to showcasing an entire room done up in the Wayfair style. Other pages show off each individual item in the larger photo as well as its name, price, and item number. You can use this information on the website by typing it into the search bar and it will immediately bring up the item you’re looking for. Super easy.
Are there any restrictions on requesting the catalog?
The only restriction to requesting a print version of the Wayfair catalog is that you must have a mailing address in the United States. This is likely because Wayfair can only ship to the 50 U.S. states and territories. So, sorry to all of you outside of the country!
What are similar catalogs?
If you’re looking for more variety or happen to live outside the United States, here are a few other similar catalogs you may want to check out.
IKEA – The Swedish home furniture giant with cleverly named products produces a catalog nearly as large as their store. Okay, not really, but you get the idea. This catalog is thick because it’s loaded with all the newest items for sale. Much like the Wayfair catalog, you’ll see beautifully designed rooms featuring their products and all at a beautiful price.
Pottery Barn – I absolutely loved the Pottery Barn Teen catalogs in my younger days, and now, as an adult (we won’t mention how many years later) I love the “regular” Pottery Barn as well. It’s full of inspirational rooms that get you excited to decorate. It comes out every month and has special issues for seasonal items like Christmas, the four seasons, etc.
Pier 1 Imports – What I love most about the Pier 1 print catalog is how gorgeous it is. You could put this on a shelf and nobody would know the difference between it and your favorite design books. There’s also an online version if you’re more digital than a paperback. The best part is that there’s a new issue every month so you’re always staying on top of the latest trends.
West Elm – As a member of the Williams Sonoma family, West Elm is one of those brands it’s easy to get behind. They design almost all of their products in-house and they create Fair Trade Certified products which means you’re not only getting quality home goods, you’re also supporting fair working conditions and compensation for the people who manufacture the products you’re buying.
Crate & Barrel – If you’re looking for an international option, Crate & Barrel has over 100 stores in 9 different countries. Their style is contemporary and modern. Think minimalistic design, all-white backgrounds, and clean lines. They also have a super popular kid’s section for the littlest members of your family.
A brief overview of Wayfair
Wayfair was founded in 2002 by college roommates Steve Conine and Niraj Shah. They originally sold stereo racks and stands, but that quickly developed into something much larger. In fact, they had over 250 different websites for selling products. In 2011, they merged all those sites into one, which is the Wayfair we know and love today.
Wayfair does have one physical location in The Natick Mall at 1245 Worcester St, Natick, Massachusetts, 01760. They also have an outlet store at 5101 Renegade Way, Florence, Kentucky, 41042. This is where you can shop for items that were returned or are on clearance but still in great condition.
Today, Wayfair sells over 8 million products for the home. Everything from full-size furniture pieces to accent rugs, to trash bins. If it’s an item you need in your home, you’ll find it on the Wayfair website. Trust me.
Wayfair is a big business. They’ve grown from $3.38 billion in 2016 to $6.779 billion in 2018. In quarter three of 2019 alone, they’ve made $2.305 billion and are on track to hit over $8 billion in sales in 2019. And it’s easy to see why when they offer such a wide selection of home goods!
