Upon entry of the main wooden door entrance, you are welcomed by this outdoor interior court leading to a glass-enclosed interior.

This interior open area has a large hallway of stone concrete walls and floor.

This is a look at the main woodne door entrance from the opposite side by the entrance of the glass-enclosed interior.

This is the interior of the glass-enclosed area fitted with a living room with wooden sofas and armchairs.

A few steps from the wooden sofas of the living room area is the dining area with a long wooden dining table surrounded by red cushioned chairs to match those of the living room.

This is the bedroom with a stone flooring that complements the wooden elements that match the wooden platform bed.

The bathroom has a consistent gray stone tile tone on its walls, floor and ceiling complemented by the wooden floating vanity.

This is the covered walkway on the side of the house with a tall ceiling and sided with a row of tropical plants.

This covered patio is fitted with a couple of wooden chairs to better appreciate the surrounding tropical landscaping.

The house by the Trees is a gathering and retreat place on the outskirts of Ahmedabad set amidst the existing neem, chikoo, and amla trees. The brief given was to have a spacious and open place yet addressing security concerns

Our primary concern was to weave the house layout with the existing trees, resulting in some trees within the house courts and some trees along its edge and thus random location of existing trees defined the extent of the house. The house is a two-bay plan with the front bay having the semi-open porch and vestibule and a guest bedroom adjoining it.

A linear courtyard segregates the front bay from the rear one enhancing the sense of openness from the enclosed spaces. The rear bay has the living, dining, and kitchen on one side and master bedroom on the other side with a semi-open lounge that separates these zones in the rear bay.
