Your eyes are one of your most important assets, not only when it comes to your looks but you need them to see everything around you. If you wear eyeglasses or prescription sunglasses, you know how lost you are if you can’t find them.
Your eye doctor will more than likely give you instructions on how to keep your glasses cleaned properly and of course, they’ll provide you with an eyeglasses case. The thing they will probably not tell you is that if you have multiple pairs of eyeglasses or a variety of regular sunglasses, those need to be stored properly too. If you have several pairs, how do you store them properly and also keep them organized and safe?
When it comes to me and my eyeglasses, we have a love-hate relationship. I either cannot find them when I first wake up in the morning because they fell off the nightstand onto the floor and under the bed, or I end up breaking them because I set them in a place where they can fall onto the floor or down into my messy purses.
There is nothing worse than waking up in the morning and not being able to find your pair of eyeglasses which means I can’t see very well and I’m stumbling to the bathroom. I recently learned of the many sites online that you can purchase prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses so I am adding to my collection so I will have an array of options to choose from which means I am in need of more and proper storage options than ever before.
Drawer Organizer
I have used several different organizers for my glasses and sunglasses over the years so I always know where they’re at and I don’t have to waste time hunting them down. Many of you have seen the three-drawer organizers that come in a clear, see-through look or in different colors.
These organizers are made out of plastic and have handy little knobs on the drawers to be able to open them quickly and grab your glasses. You can store at least six pairs of glasses safely in one of these types of organizers. I definitely prefer the clear over the colored ones because then I can see the glasses and quickly choose the pair I want to wear that day.

Another type of organizer is the kind that reminds me of a drawer that you’ve taken out of the cupboard. It operates similarly to a silverware drawer with rectangular dividers going across to form six or seven compartments. The dividers are for your different pairs of glasses but if you are a major collector of sunglasses or eyeglasses, this may not be the style of organizer you will prefer.
I enjoy the fact about this type of option that they do come in an array of colors and you can actually buy several and stack them up then place them on a table, vanity, or dresser. That means you can show off the fact that you have a glasses collection but in a fun way that adds pops of color to any room you place them in. I loved these but then added to my eyeglasses collection so I needed a larger option which leads us to the next type of glasses organizer.
If you, like me, want to show off your collection of gorgeous sunglasses and eyeglasses, you might want to try an organizer that you can display on a wall or door. These types of organizers come with small hooks that you can simply hang your glasses on. This is a convenient option because your glasses are available when you’re running out the door to an appointment you are late for or an important date and you do not have to search for the pair you want.
While I had one of these organizers that held 15 pairs of glasses, you can actually purchase larger ones that hold up to 100. That means if you’re a major collector of sunglasses and eyeglasses, you will have plenty of room for your collection and can show it off to all your friends and family members when they come to visit.
Rack It Up
Another fun option to use is an eyeglasses rack. These come in a variety of different shapes and sizes and you can place them on your dresser on your bathroom counter, wherever it’s convenient for you or in a location in which it can be seen by others to impress them with your choices in glasses.

Pretty Basket and Glasses
Another easy way to keep your glasses all in one place is by using a pretty basket or tray that you can place close to the main door of your house or apartment. If you use this option for your sunglasses, it’s nice and convenient so when you come home you can simply drop them in the basket, and the next day you can grab the pair you want to wear as you’re walking back out the door.
This method will not keep your sunglasses from bumping or rubbing against each other so if you pay a lot of money for your glasses, you will want to put them in a glasses case first before tossing them into the tray or basket.

Trays and Things
You can also purchase an acrylic tray that fits inside one of the drawers in your house. If you choose a tray with rectangular sections that will allow your sunglasses or eyeglasses to fit easily into them you can simply place that into a vanity or dresser drawer so you will always know where your glasses are.
That Old Medicine Cabinet
Instead of throwing out an old medicine cabinet or selling it at a garage sale, you could very easily convert it into a great place to store your glasses and sunglasses. If it’s old and looks really bad you can simply spray paint it or decorate it somehow to match with the style of the room in which you’re going to use it.
Not Just for Shoes
Whoever said a shoe organizer that goes over a door is just for shoes that did not know what they were talking about. This type of shoe organizer works great for your glasses and sunglasses. Also, if you don’t use all of the pockets in the organizer for your different pairs of sunglasses and eyeglasses, it also makes a great place to store hats, gloves, and even car keys.
Coat Hanger method
A do-it-yourself way to keep your glasses safe and to know where they are when you need them while displaying them attractively in your home for your family and friends to admire is to simply use a coat hanger. Simply hang your glasses on the bottom part of the coat hanger then hang it up in a location in which it’s convenient and looks good in your home. You can even decorate the hanger to match the decor of the room in which you’re hanging it.
Jewelry Tree
A jewelry tree is another great way to hang your glasses so you always know where they are when you are on the go and again, you can show them off to guests who visit your home. You can place this organizer by the door you use most often so they’re always at your fingertips when you are ready to leave the house. When you come home, it will be very convenient for you to hang your glasses right back up to be ready for the next time you want to wear them.
Ribbon and Frames
You can use an old picture frame with no glass in it, along with some pretty ribbon, to create a magnificent eye and sunglasses solution that will not only allow you to keep your glasses safe, but you can also show them off and they can even become part of your home’s décor. Simply tape or glue some ribbon across the old photo frame, hang it on a wall in a convenient location, and there you have it! You will never lose your glasses again and they will be ready to go when you are.
Hook It Up
Those little white adhesive hooks that you can buy at many different stores are not just for hanging up hats or keys anymore. Place several of these hooks on the wall in a convenient location and you will have a nice, safe way to keep your glasses organized while displaying your shades for others to admire.
And there you have it. All of the different ways I have used to organize my collections of eyeglasses and sunglasses over the years. I hope this was helpful and that you, too, have figured out which options you think will work best for you to finally know where your glasses are at all times and to be able to keep your glasses safe and scratch-free! Your glasses are an important part of your life to not only keep your eyes healthy, but they are a fashion statement.
