These days any shelf that isn’t supported by it’s own weight is called a “floating” shelf. The terms, IMO, has been watered down.
A real floating bookshelf is one that gives the appearance of truly floating where you can’t see what supports it or how it’s designed in any way. Usually the shelf is visible which is fine.
What makes the following bookshelves truly remarkable is the clever but simple design that conceals the actual shelf. This makes it look like your books are actually floating like magic on your wall. I love them.

You sure can. To no one’s surprise you can buy them on Amazon for not a whole lot of money. You could easily turn an entire wall into a stunning magical accent wall with enough of these shelves.

They’re large enough to support most books but small enough so that most books will conceal the shelf.
The clever design element is the small “hook” that drops below the shelf where you can tuck the cover of the bottom book into which then totally conceals the shelf. So simple, yet so effective.
The result is pretty mindblowing IMO. I love it. The more the merrier. They’re inexpensive so creating a full wall with this is not going to break your budget.
