About Studio
The project approach arises from a double commitment: the will to give a technical response to a specific context (needs program, budget, regulations, environment…) and the desire to seek beauty through the built work. This process pursues the satisfaction, understood in its most complete sense, of all those who actively participate in development. Especially customers and users, but also collaborators, builders, and designers.
In the professional trajectory, very diverse types of construction are collected. There are new works, rehabilitations, reforms, block housing, and public building… Work carried out with high budgets and others with reduced budgets, but in all cases, great attention has been paid to the economy, without waste. Architecture can be small in the big or big in the small if each commission is understood as an opportunity to materialize a good project.
Another characteristic of the process is continuous. Continuity with an environment that we must respect, spatial continuity, the use of few materials, the integration of facilities, lighting… These are common factors in the work carried out. And also the search for continuity in time, valuing the architecture that is capable of going through it without becoming obsolete.
The use of innovation is emphasized. New materials, and new technologies, improve people’s lives. An innovation based on experience and the improvement of tradition.
Precision is one of the keys to the work system. It requires concentrated and attentive activity throughout the entire process, which goes from the initial idea, through the drafting of the project, to its materialization. The construction, the furniture, the maintenanceโฆ
Dialogue is always present since the work becomes part of the identity of those who inhabit it. The house and the workspace are a true reflection of those who live or work there, an unequivocal expression of their personality or their corporate culture.
This dialogue seeks comfort and utility, examining the conflicts and joys of the daily acts of human life, which define architecture. The response given to these concepts characterizes the projects making each one different.
And finally, the team. Excellence in design is based on the integration of a network of professionals who share the pleasure of their work. A team made up of specialists in the calculation of structures, acoustics, installations, graphic design, interior design, architecture… that produces an atmosphere of shared creativity capable of generating contagious motivation, taking care of what is in process, and excited about what is to come.
We like the virtue of architecture which makes it possible to construct a house on air and walk on water. An abrupt plot of land overlooking the sea, where what is best is to do nothing. It invites you to stay. A piece that respects the landโs natural contour is set in it.
Above, a shadow, the house itself, looking calmly at the Mediterranean. Under the sun, the swimming pool brings us closer to the sea, it becomes a quiet cove. In the inflection point, the stairway proposes an evocative path and a garden in the basement.
Due to the steepness of the plot and the desire to contain the house in just one level, a three-dimensional structure of reinforced concrete slabs and screens adapting to the plotโs topography was chosen, thus minimizing the earthwork. This monolithic, stone-anchored structure generates a horizontal platform from the accessing level, where the house itself is located.
The swimming pool is placed on a lower level, on an already flat area of the site. The concrete structure is insulated from the outside and then covered by a flexible and smooth white lime stucco. The rest of the materials, walls, pavements, and the gravel on the roofโฆ all maintain the same color, respecting the traditional architecture of the area, emphasizing it and simultaneously underlining the unity of the house.
