Every parent wants to incite creativity and self-expression in their child, from the early days of encouraging them to choose the color of play dough you were making to them choosing a car. So, when my child suggested we repaint her bedroom I was excited.

What could be more fun than a bedroom makeover? Be warned, this task is more daunting than you could imagine. A mere green room has many faces. In fact, there are hundreds of shades of green. How do you choose the best option?

For reasons of parental sanity, I am sharing my research with you. By utilizing the following list of the 25 best green paint colors for your kid’s bedroom, you can all enjoy the experience together.

Moth’s Wing by BEHR (P370-1)

Elegant subtlety gives this shade a quiet touch of green while remaining significantly neutral, almost like sitting on the fence. If your kid’s room is small or if you are not so enthusiastic about the idea of painting their room green, this color will please everyone. It reminds me of a spearmint milkshake with very little flavoring. The styling that accompanies this color is very easy due to the neutrality of the shade.

The beauty of a pale shade makes for a relaxing and subtle environment that is ideal for a baby or toddler’s room. The fresh and uplifting feeling that emanates from Pale Vista will have a calming effect on both its occupant and you, as we all know a parent needs little calm from time to time. The bonus with this shade is that you can safely add colorful toys without the fear of clashing with the wall color.

There is no doubt that our kids live a hectic life with school, homework, sports, and clubs taking most of their time. In their free time, it is important to provide them with a safe and harmonious environment, allowing them to unwind and revitalize.

Such a sanctuary could be created for a teen with this color. A bold statement can be easily acquired by styling the room with wood, white or gray tones. The greatest advantage is the psychological impact of the shade which is said to alleviate anxiety and depression. It’s a winner.

I adore this color due to the positivity it exudes. The rich hue and vibrancy make me smile just by looking at it. This shade would be perfect for a baby’s room as bright colors are easier for them to distinguish. Contrasts in color are ideal to enhance their learning which could easily be done in a room of this color with the addition of red, yellow, and blue wall art stickers.

As far as inspirational colors go, this is one of my favorites. If you are looking for a room shade to inspire hope, positivity, and harmony, this is a fabulous choice. The fresh feeling your child will wake up to each morning will have them leaping out of bed in a positive frame of mind. Of course, this is not a guarantee as it does a great job, however, it is just painted.

End of the Rainbow by BEHR (P400-2)

I have to be honest, I just love the name of this color. However, the freshness is relaxing and cooling due to the blue hue. It’s the perfect color for a kid that wants a coastal feel in their room and the calming influence will settle them at the end of a busy day at school. After all, who doesn’t want to find out what’s at the end of the rainbow?

The slight blue hue in this shade has a cooling effect on the room. If your kid’s room is on the warmer side of the house or if you are trying to save electricity and have turned off the air conditioning in their room, this color would work well.

Some may ask why this color would suit a kid’s room but stick with me here. This shade carries all the psychological benefits of green with a slight alternative to traditional green shades. There are several situations where this color produces a spectacular room.

In a light and bright room with floorboards, this color looks amazing and can be brought to life with the addition of red or other brightly colored elements such as some wall art. Another alternative is to only paint part of the room, either one or two walls or the lower portion of all the walls. White trim also sets off this shade beautifully.

If your kid’s room is small and on the dark side (not in the Star Wars way), this shade of lime would work wonders in brightening and opening up space.
