Elementi is a dramatic and luxurious home that is considered one of Southern California’s most photogenic homes. This was designed by Michael Chen who also gave it a unique Asian twist and jetliner views. This home is now on the market priced at $65 million.
The house is measured at 18,000 square feet with seven bedrooms and fourteen bathrooms. The house has a great room dressed in marble, an atrium open from the roof to the lower floor, a chef’s kitchen, and a butler’s pantry. It also boasts walls of glass, dual baths, a daylight basement, a Venetian plastered spiral staircase, a 2,000-bottle wine cellar, a wellness center and gym, an office, and a home theatre. The highlight of the house is a 150-year-old imported Mediterranean olive tree in the atrium.
The dramatic and luxurious Elementi is listed under Michael Chen and Aaron Kirman of Aaron Kirman Group at Compass in Los Angeles.
Inspired by the Pacific Coast Highway bridges and waterfalls, designer Michael Chen has interpreted the beauty of the California Coast’s natural and manmade elements into an equally stunning home, but with an Asian twist and jetliner views. Located in the ultra-exclusive Beverly Hills enclave of Trousdale Estates, Elementi has recently listed at $65 million, or the Bitcoin equivalent.
Not a stranger to drama or luxury, Michael Chen’s design skill is borne through his extensive world travels, as a set designer for Warner Brothers, furniture designer in Milan, theme park designer in Hong Kong and luxury home designer and developer across Southern California.
The façade of Elementi displays Michael’s inspiration in the bridge entry to a large pivoting front door over water that cascades down past a dining room suspended over a lower courtyard, and then continues into an atrium on the lower level. Measuring 18,000 square feet, the home has seven bedrooms and fourteen baths, a great room dressed in marble with views to the ocean, an atrium open from the roof to the lower floor, a chef’s kitchen and butler’s pantry designed so cooking takes place away from the clean, minimalistic lines of the main kitchen.
The master suite cantilevers over a balcony and has two walls of glass capturing the views, along with dual baths clad in marble and one with a skylight. Elementi is the only home in Trousdale Estates that is permitted for a daylight basement, which is accessed via a Venetian plastered spiral staircase. The basement/ground floor is designed around entertaining and its pièce de résistance: a 150-year-old imported Mediterranean olive tree in the atrium. There is also a 2,000-bottle wine cellar, a wellness center and gym, office and a home theatre.
