Blue is such a wonderfully versatile color. It can convey so many different feelings and so many different atmospheres and ambiances. Blue can be calming and serene, blue can be bold and obnoxious, blue can elegant and regal, or blue can be subtle and subdued.
Blue also just so happens to be the perfect color choice for your bathroom. While I only ever use white paint for the walls in my home, the bathroom is a wonderful opportunity to add a pop of color and get a little bit more creative with your designing.
So in love of the color blue, we’ve created this fantastic little collection of 14 blue bathroom designs that are using the color blue. Whether it be through tiles, paint, or accessories, you’ll find that the color blue is one of the best choices to use for your very own bathroom renovation dreams!
1. The Denim Blue Simplicity Bathroom
Layout: We’re starting of this collection with a very simple bathroom that is using a small space quite economically. A tankless toilet helps clear out visual clutter, and setting the bathtub beside the sink is a great way to space save as well.
Flooring: This bathroom is utilizing a very simple two-color color scheme. Huge white tiles (which are most certainly heated) keep up with the strict color scheme and match the remainder of the bathroom appliances.
Walls: The walls are really the area where we get the best pop. I love when designers choose to use tiles to cover bathroom walls, especially when the tiles are in this particularly lovely shade of denim blue. The white caulking between the tiles does an elegant job of keeping up with the color scheme.
Decor: There is not a single stitch of decor in this room at the moment, but it would be such a good opportunity to add some personality! Think about adding texture with towels and floor mats, or using a wild shade of orange to create a color contrast, or even some plants to get a little bit of life and movement!
This wonderfully simple bathroom was designed by Pascali Semerdjian Architects.
2. The Step-Up Ocean Blue Bathroom
Layout: I really love the layout of this bathroom design. You’d never be able to tell that the designer was a little bit tight on space, which is the true test of whether something is ergonomically inspired. This bathtub is a bit smaller than usual, but setting it underneath the window makes it feel so cozy.
I also adore how we didn’t have to sacrifice a double vanity for the sake of space, and this was done by extending the sink all the way to the edge of the bathtub. There’s also something extra cute about having to go up a couple of steps to get into the bathtub – it makes me think it’s deliciously deep!
Flooring: I LOVE A TINY TILED FLOOR, especially when those tiny tiles are this particular rectangle shape and when they’re in the most delicate and serene shade of blue. Though I have yet to see one in person, I long to be in an ocean in this color.
Walls: As I mentioned earlier, I love a tiled wall, especially when it matches a tiled floor. It gives such a luxurious feel and reminds me a lot of Turkish baths. It’s a great way to add color and texture, and this particular shade of blue chosen feels perfect for a bathroom space.
Decor: At the moment this bathroom is very minimally decorated, but I would use the space in particular to get my plants the humidity and light that they long for! Having hanging plants above the bathtub would feel extra relaxing, and perhaps having some wood elements scattered throughout (a wooden bathmat perchance) would add a nice contrast of color, and bring in an organic element.

3. The Titillating Tiled Blue Bathroom
Layout: Here we have a simple layout with isolated bathroom appliances, like a quaint pedestal sink and a clawfoot tub that matches it perfectly. Little peep windows add some lovely natural light while vertical features help make the room feel tall.
Flooring: Simple white tiles for the floor feels like a very appropriate choice for the bathroom, and feels effective when sticking to a blue and white color scheme.
Walls: A lovely shade of darker eggshell blue was chosen for the paint, while some darker small blue tiles used as framing act as a great pop of color and added texture at the same time!
Decor: I find the decorations in this bathroom space just perfect. We see those wooden elements I mentioned earlier that add a delicate color addition and some texture, while a little potted plant is so effective especially against an entirely blue room!
4. The Elegant Lazuli Blue Bathroom
Layout: This is a particularly serene bathroom set up. Very generously sized, this beautiful space features a huge jacuzzi tub set underneath a large window and matching sinks on either side. The room is so clearly dedicated only to relaxation, especially considering that the toilet is in a completely different room!
Flooring: Elegant limestone tiling for the floors feels like such a luxurious choice, and almost looks like sand on a beach with the rest of the features and decoration in the room.
Walls: I find that the particular shade of blue that was used to paint the walls of this room is what really contributes to the elegant feeling that it has. The blue has quite a bit of gray in it making it rather dark, but the cream colored trim and cream colored floors really warms it up. So elegant, so beautiful.
Decor: I love a room that is minimally decorated, especially when those decorations are just a couple of super happy orchid plants. The bathroom is an amazing place to put your humidity-loving plants, and it also just adds a nice little oomph of life, don’t ya think?
5. The Classic Eggshell Blue Bathroom
Layout: This is a wonderfully unique bathroom layout that seems like it’s set in either an attic or an A-frame home. The room is quaintly separated by a raised platform for the clawfoot tub, a little room separator for the toilet area, while the rest of the features like the pedestal sink are out in the open.
Flooring: Tiny white tiles have been used for the bathroom floor in this room which I find particularly cute, though they can be hard to be kept clean – especially the grout in between the tiles!
Walls: Super light sky blue paint was used to decorate this bathroom space. I find this shade particularly calming and a classic choice for a bathroom.
Decor: Deep purple towels act as a nice contrast for this room, though I may choose something like a tangerine color to really make a pop! And as always, hanging plants would be so happy if they were dangling from the skylight.
6. The Under Water Oasis Blue Bathroom
Layout: Here we have a very generously sized bathroom that could be extravagant with its design thanks to all of that space. A gorgeous shower room with a bench inside can also act as a sauna, while an entire portion of the bathroom is dedicated to a very chic and modern rectangular tub. A double vanity is topped with a huge landscape mirror to make the whole thing feel even more expansive.
Flooring: Gorgeous tiling was used for the floor in this room. The watery texture of the beautiful tile feels very deliberate, especially when considering that the same time was used for the walls. It’s like the designer wanted to evoke a feeling of being underwater in this room, and it worked!
Walls: The bathroom is really the only room in a house where you can get away with using the same tile for both the walls and the floor, but it gives such a dramatic effect! One feels like they’re in an underwater cave in here, truly dramatizing the bathroom experience.
Decor: While we don’t really have any decor in here at the moment, I think it could really use some. The space feels a little bit cold and slightly intimidating presently, but if you added some super plush towels and floor mats, some beautiful bouquets of dried flowers in colorful vases, it would become superbly inviting.
7. The Rustic Bath Bathroom
Layout: Okay this is for sure my favorite bathroom design in the collection. It has everything you could ever want in a bathroom. Space, style, and a tub that’s made out of stainless steel. I can’t tell if this would make me feel incredible or a bit like a boiled lobster.
Flooring: It’s rather rare to see hardwood flooring in a bathroom, but it looks really gorgeous in this room especially next to the perfect little blue tiles used for literally everything else in the room.
Walls: This particular type of tile is such a smart choice to use for the walls. It’s bold, but no so bold that the room feels too bold or too pressed. We catch a glimpse of some gorgeous wooden vaulted ceilings as well which helps sandwich the whole room together.
Decor: While this room already feels so cozy, adding some more textured elements, some colorful elements, or some patterned elements would bring it to a whole new level.

8. The Turkish Bath Inspired Bathroom
Layout: This here is another one of my favorite bathrooms in the collection. This room is using tons of space and more modern bathroom appliances to make something very special. Two separate vanities line one wall, while another super modern and fun tub is set underneath an open window.
Flooring: This is one of my favorite floors in the whole collection! These itty bitty blue tiles all come in different shades of blue creating a mosaic effect, almost like the look that a pool gets when the light streams through the water and changes the color of the tiles. So pretty!
Walls: For the walls the designer chose some brick-style tiles in a beautiful shade of blue to go with the floors. While these are a little more plain, they do a great job of complimenting the floor tiles while also making them stand out!
Decor: Another minimally decorated bathroom that could really benefit from some fluffy and brightly patterned towels, maybe a wooden bath mat, and definitely some potted plants around the room to benefit from that humidity, and help contribute to that feeling of relaxation.
9. The Stained Glass Serenity Blue Bathroom
Layout: This very generously sized bathroom exudes nothing but luxury with an open shower room on a lower level, and the upper level is adorned with a modern clawfoot tub set in front of a gorgeous stained glass window. Truly a beautiful space to behold.
Flooring: This lovely space is adorned with nothing but tiny tiles. The white tiles line the floor and it almost looks like sand on a beach in paradise. A very smart choice for a bathroom!
Walls: Yet another beautiful bathroom design that is using different shades of blue tiles to create a stunning effect. This room exudes relaxation and luxury, that’s what tiles tend to do!
Decor: The cool thing about this room is that the main features of the room are so lovely all on their own that you don’t need much in terms of decoration. Especially considering the lovely design on the stained glass window.
10. The Bold Blue Polka Dot Bathroom
Layout: This quaint little bathroom doesn’t seem too concerned about having a small amount of space, so much so that it contains both a toilet and a bidet! Having both a rounded corner sink area and a rounded stand up shower is a great way to space save.
Flooring: This bathroom has one of the most bold and obnoxious set of tiles that I’ve ever seen, but somehow I’m not bothered by it!
Walls: It’s quite a bold design choice to already use the same tile for both floor and walls, but it becomes all the more bold when that tile is so loud! It’s a risky choice to use, especially in a room so small, but if anything the bathroom is a room where you can be quite adventurous and experimental, and it won’t effect the flow of the house. I love it.
Decor: This exciting space doesn’t have anything by way of decoration, but if it did, it may just end up being too much. Plain towels and bath mats it is!
11. The Cathedral Blue Bathroom
Layout: This is surely one of the most extravagant, elegant, and luxurious bathrooms in the collection. Stunning cathedral ceilings are brought down by gorgeous foundational pillars, and brought into amazing craftsmanship throughout. This entirely custom bathroom is centred around this perfect jacuzzi tub, set in front of an ornate landscape window.
Flooring: Simple limestone tiling in this bathroom seems like the most natural choice for the room, further accentuating the feeling of lavish luxury.
Walls: Blue really isn’t the focal point in the room, but this gentle shade of powder blue goes very nicely with the cream colored facade and flooring. The small turquoise tiled detailing is also a very nice touch.
Decor: I really find the minimal decoration in this room to be perfect, with lovely blue vases, ornate lighting, and that gorgeous window all come together to create a truly remarkable bathroom design.
12. The Arctic Blue Tiled Attic Bathroom
Layout: Yet another impeccable bathroom design. This attic style bathroom is one of my absolute favorites, nestling a luxurious bathtub area into the very corner of the room just set above the sky light. A beautiful vanity lines the primary wall while a small accent wall hides the toilet area.
Flooring: The tiles chosen for this room are some of the most impeccable I’ve ever seen. These amazingly stylish black tiles are an unusual choice, but it suits the aesthetic of the space so nicely.
Walls: This arctic blue tile is truly the most stunning choice I’ve seen in this collection. The particular shade and texture of the tiles almost make you feel like you’re in a glacier, until you look at the black tiling on the floor and everything changes. So incredibly stunning I barely have the words.
Decor: Somebody got the memo that having plants in your bathroom is pretty much the only decoration that you could need! Maybe some fluffy sage green towels to boot and you’re good to go with the best bathroom ever.
13. The Mid-Century Modern Inspired Bathroom
Layout: I love how such different bathrooms can be so special all on their own. This moderately sized bathroom feels open and airy with a quaint little bathtub area with a towel drying rack set above it, and a hovering sink area made of beautiful wood acts as a really incredible contrast.
Flooring: Dark cement flooring is a very modern flare on this more mid-century modern bathroom aesthetic.
Walls: The particular shade of blue chosen for these tiles is such an unusual choice, but I can’t imagine anything else in this space. What could have become public pool locker room, became super chic literally all thanks to that stunning wood used for the vanity.
Decor: The only thing that I would like to see in this space is some fluffy lilac towels on that drying rack, and a happy purple orchid set on the side of the sink.
14. The Corner Jacuzzi Blue Bathroom
Layout: We’re finishing off this collection with a really fun bathroom design complete with a corner jacuzzi tub in the shape of an egg, a double vanity with countertop extending from wall to wall, and a huge storage unit with frosty glass.
Flooring: Delicately blue tiled floors almost give you the feeling that you’re wading in a tide pool, while a super fuzzy cream colored area rug could almost be sand. I really love the flooring choice in this room.
Walls: While the walls aren’t blue in this space, we have a really chic bit of ceiling decoration of a wave of blue. We then have blue brought down the room on the super fun countertop of blue tiles that matches with the blue tiles in the shower room. Modern, fun, adorable.
Decor: There are nothing but blue accents in this adorable bathroom, but I could stand to see a couple pops of orange or red to get a nice color contrast going!
