The apartment located in the Moema neighborhood, in São Paulo, has 158m² and has been completely renovated. The project signed by architect Georgia Albuquerque was developed for a couple, he a lawyer, she a businesswoman.
The clients’ expectation was to have a cozy house with rustic touches. And in some meetings the architect understood exactly how to deliver an apartment with the couple’s style. Reinforcing the connection with the environment through sensations coming from natural elements, such as Cumaru wood, Moledo stone and straw, which conveys a feeling of welcome and warmth.
The original plan of the apartment had three suites. To gain more space in the master suite, the bathroom was removed from one of them. Another suite was integrated into the living room, adding a dining room and a home office to the space.
Natural and textured coatings are the best way to bring comfort to the environment, and as this was the main premise, the entire design focused on this point. The living room received a slatted lining in Cumaru wood throughout its length, in addition to the joinery. The master suite has a bamboo floor and a ceiling made of Cumaru slats, and the walls are covered in silk straw.
Each environment was designed with great care and affection, so that the couple felt constantly embraced. Whether in the living room, bathroom, Master suite, Master bath or even in the Kitchen. The textures enter the project in soft and harmonious tones to bring comfort, a feeling of calm and lightness. This aligned with a contemporary design project resulted in a current apartment.
One of the highlights of the design appears in the Roots coffee table, by Jader Almeida, a piece of contemporary, organic design, with an all-wood finish. It synthesizes a little the concept of the apartment in the sense of being a piece that brings a certain rusticity with the exposed wooden tops, but at the same time sophisticated and light.
