Charleston Custom Residential Design

Today we feature this gorgeous private residence, a unique creation designed by Damien Busillo at DLB Custom Home Design.

Nestled along the beautiful marshes of Coastal South Carolina, this private residence was designed with low maintenance in mind. Sustainability was the main priority when building this structure. A sustainable home is one that only uses enough materials and energy so it will not impact further generations.

The layered front facade adds immense visual impact, while the sprawling natural wood deck on the rear completes a well-rounded external picture. The traditional shell conceals a thoroughly contemporary interior, replete with bursts of striking color throughout the neutral palette.

Standing brightly apart from its wooded surroundings, the tall home stands elevated above a concrete foundation with two garage stalls beneath the main body. Front entrance stands on a balcony wrapped in white and natural wood railings.

The entire home is dotted with a complex array of discreet windows, allowing for natural light and privacy in equal measure. Natural wood is used sparingly to bold effect.

The large open central interior of the home is awash in natural wood and cream tones, splashed with sky blue as seen on the marble topped island here. Stainless steel appliances add contrast, while slender drum pendant lighting adds upper level detail.

Moving back into the living room space, we see a central pillar in bold yellow defining the different areas. Dining space at left features a large natural wood table, while in the foreground we see a sprawling white leather sectional flanked by geometric carved wood tables.
