With this gallery we aim to highlight the spectacular SGNW project, a home designed by Metropole Architects.

The homeowners hired Metropole to create a dream house for their site in the Zimbali forest estate.

A standout feature of the exterior design is the placement of several bodies of water, including Koi ponds, water features, and an infinity swimming pool. These features appear to coalesce into one, flowing through the house and outward into the forest.

The stacked and staggered roof is fragmented and linked with flat roof slabs, corresponding to the spatial arrangement of the rooms below.

This articulates the interior construction, lending it a bold scale when viewed from afar. The primary bedroom suite is cantilevered six meters over the patio below, providing protection from the weather, as well as a pronounced “wow” factor.

Intricate and broad arrangements of windows optimize views of the environment from anywhere within the house.

With a palette of raw materials including natural timber, off shutter concrete, water, and natural stone cladding, the clean architectural lines are offset, granting the home a Zen-like warmth and ambiance.

Seen from the back side, the home is a series of layers from the hardwood patio on up. Here we clearly see the cantilevered primary bedroom creating a sheltered outdoor dining space.

The front entry is a series of large stone brick pieces, framing a two story doorway wrapped in glass. Intricate brick driveway leads to garage enclosed in rich wood paneling.

Seen from the opposite side, the large central water feature is this L-shaped pool running throughout the patio space.

The furniture filled patio space beneath the bedroom houses a full bar countertop. Retractible glass panels open this area to the living room.

Overlooking the water feature toward the wilderness beyond, we see the entire structure bisected by the pool. Hardwood planks seem to float upon the water.

This side of the patio features a large temple-like gazebo structure, perfect for relaxing outdoors in the shade. Massive timber beams frame this comfortable nook.

At dusk, the gazebo glows, mirroring the look of the home itself. A small zen garden is seen in foreground, while larger example rests below the patio, at left.

The patio dining area is lit via series of ceiling embedded lights. Lengthy wood dining table surrounded by wicker seating stands next to the large countertop equipped with a built-in range.

One enters the home via this warm toned wood platform wrapped in glass. The entire exterior is a series of large glass panels framed in deep hued timber.

Looking into the entryway from the opposite side, we see the glass floor feature mirroring the water on the exterior.

The central staircase wraps around this intricately carved wooden column. The white and light wood tones contrast perfectly, and with the glass railings, aid the wholly contemporary look.

The kitchen features a massive granite topped island with glowing smoked glass body. Dark toned sleek cabinetry panels add contrast and elegance.

Across the large island we see the living room and patio space beyond. The sleek dark minimalist cabinetry frames a mirrored backsplash at right.

The formal dining room shares the open space with the kitchen, centered on a large natural wood dining table and chocolate toned dining chairs. A large shimmering box chandelier hangs above.

The living room rests on a lower tier than the kitchen and dining, with natural wood stairs dividing the spaces. Brown leather furniture centers an area filled with intricate detail and surrounded by glass.

The home features this sprawling, mood-lit entertainment room, replete with cinema style seating and large pool table. Burnt orange walls, tiled ceiling, and constellation of recessed lighting create a unique look.

Moving upstairs, we see this glass wrapped walkway leading toward an open design office space. Floating white desk is paired with black seat, wire-frame chairs beside an arrangement of bronze sphere lighting.

The office area sits halfway along a catwalk hall leading toward the private bedroom area.

Entering the primary bedroom, we see a two-wall, full height set of windows providing expansive views over the surrounding wilderness. Light natural wood tones pair with beige furniture for a bright and warm look.

The rich wood framing gives way to a large sliding panels in the upper half of the windows, allowing for completely opening the bedroom to the elements. Louvered panels can slide into place to provide shade.

This secondary bedroom features a bold stylistic break, with blue hues and circular wood cutouts on the wall, as well as a rustic look centered on the wood frame beds and unvarnished flooring.

This quiet corner space sees a small table and bright red armchair sitting in the sunlight provided by floor to ceiling windows.

Here we see the entire house from the brush surrounding the expansive patio. The angular forms and natural elements arise from the foliage to striking effect.

We return finally to the front entrance, and the large spread of brick and stone seen here. The home glows through floor to ceiling glass in every corner.
