The Pine School is a private institution for students in grades 6-12. It was constructed in 2007, and it’s located in Hobe Sound, Florida.
It’s important for students to go to school in an environment that is centered around learning. That’s exactly what Hughes Umbanhowar Architects achieved with this massive project.
The Pine School is more than just a building; it’s an educational campus. Students come hear to shape and mold their young minds; similar to the way the architects shaped and molded this magnificent design.
They made the Pine School perfect for both individual learning as well as group activities as study sessions. It’s the first step of implementing change to an existing educational system that has flaws.
The architect built laboratory rooms that are centered on group learning and activities. There is a library that’s the perfect location for students to work on homework or quietly study without interruption. Sections of the library are ideal for groups to go and work on projects as a small unit, which enhances their learning experience and advances their communication and people skills.
Other areas of the school are designated for large assemblies. School officials can hold events in these sections where they can address the entire student body.
The overall feel of the campus is an area that focuses on community and learning. Students discover new things while they attend classes at the Pine School. It’s a massive area that covers over 97,000 square feet.
A modern design creates a new environment that bridges the gap between students and educators. It changes the way students think and feel about going to school and reassures parents that their kids are benefiting from a private educational institution.
The architects used stucco as one of the primary components of this structure. They also used polished concrete and perforated aluminum in their design. The fritted structural glazing and fiber cement panels add a unique look to the beautiful campus. There are also tensile shading components and extensive materials used to create natural light throughout the school.
Overall, the Pine School is a modern design that puts a new twist on private education. Students enjoy going to this beautiful campus every day to work together and learn. The aesthetics of the exterior fit perfectly with the unique layout, design, and feel, of that area in South Florida. It has been re-defining education since its inception.
