Welcome to our gallery featuring large and functional kitchens with island sinks.
If your kitchen has space, you may consider adding a secondary sink to your layout.
While the primary sink will typically be larger and have two basins, a secondary sink located in the island is designed for rinsing produce or other preparation materials, while keeping them separate from the primary sink, which may have contaminated dishes or pans in it.
Of course, you can’t even consider adding a sink to your island preparation area unless your kitchen is large enough to warrant an island in the first place. Installing even a small island in a compact kitchen can completely interrupt the workflow and destroy the functionality of your kitchen layout.
We recommend that you add an island so long as your kitchen is at least 9 feet by 12 feet, to ensure that you have enough space to work around the island.
This collection features a wide variety of kitchen styles, each large enough to warrant a unique island design.
If you do have a kitchen that could use an island, be sure you do your homework to find the layout that will work best for your home.
Will you need an extra raised countertop space to transform into a bar? Will you need another sink? A hanging vent hood? Maybe you’ll find a place to install a wine cooler!
The options are numerous, so you’ll be able to create the perfect island to compliment your workflow.
We hope you’ll enjoy this curated collection of fantastic kitchen island ideas, each featuring a fantastic island sink. For more kitchen design tips, be sure to check out our Ultimate Guide to Kitchen Design and Renovations as well as our main kitchen island ideas page.
