I love the natural elements such as the vintage wood dresser and the large distressed outdoor vase on a pedestal like art. The beautiful seating area deserves its own page on a magazine, complete with velvet armchairs, side table, floor lamps, custom drapes and vintage light sconces.

A crystal chandelier serves as a glamorous centerpiece while the different types of seating are drawn towards the stone fireplace at the left corner of the room with a wall-mounted TV. I love the beige cowhide rug that takes center stage in the room and the white wash brick fireplace creates a cozy feel. You can practically have a party with all the seating in this room. There is a chaise lounge chair by the windows, a brown high-back chair and ottoman near the fireplace and a modern nailhead bench at the foot of the bed.  The jewel of the design would be that gorgeous empire chandelier hanging from the ceiling and the view from the windows.

10. Contemporary Zen-Inspired Bedroom

This modern primary bedroom features large glass doors that let in the sweeping view outdoors. It's made cozier by the warm tones of the rug that stretches well into the sitting area before the fireplace flanked by the lighted built-in desks. A large bench facing the electric fireplace below a wall-mounted TV makes for another cozy lounging spot.

There is a zen feeling that overcomes you when you enter this minimal-inspired modern bedroom. I love the idea of laying in the platform bed all day staring out the glass doors or laying on the chaise-lounge in front of the modern fireplace watching TV.  The large brown plush rug warms the space, especially on cold mornings when you don’t want to step on that cold tile floor. I think the black and white art above the bed is perfect for in this design, and the low nightstands and built-in wall cabinets offer ample storage. I don’t think relaxing gets any better than being in this incredible zen bedroom.

The exposed white beam ceilings and textured walls along with the antlers hanging above the bed creates a very rustic yet chic vibe in this bedroom. There is a lovely seating area in front of the large windows, and a modern black and white rug which adds pattern and texture. The panorama windows with breathtaking views undoubtedly make the best spot in this primary bedroom. So the best spot for the sitting area is just in front of the windows. A large round sheepskin rug makes the spot look cozy and special.

There are two showstoppers in this primary bedroom, one is the beautiful seaside view showcased by the large glass wall. The second is the exposed natural wood beam ceiling. The natural wood floors and sliding doors compliment the wood on ceiling beams, creating a cohesive design. You’ll want to lounge in the seating area all day just staring

How to Choose Seating for Your Sitting Area

There are several tips you can take advantage of when deciding and creating the ultimate sitting area in your bedroom. Just remember to be creative, and something as simple as a single chair and a small table can make a big difference.

First, take stock of how much space you have available, and remember not everybody has reasonable space for that full body chaise you have been eyeing. Ideal places include bay windows or a small balcony or porch, but you can also make do with just a corner that can be emptied of other cluttering furniture; you can even replace a nightstand with a chair if your bedroom is extra tight.

Create functionality by deciding how space will be most used, either for conversations with two chairs divided by a small table or as a reading nook that includes a throw blanket and several pillows. Remember that either way, your bed still takes center stage in the room, so make sure your seating compliments it in form, color, and materials.

Consider multiple seating areas if you have a large family who likes to visit you in the morning as you check your email. A desk space, combined with a small couch, can work wonders in your use of the space.
