There is a reason why the living room is called the living room (or sometimes the sitting room). This room is meant to make you wanna sit. This room should make you wanna flop onto a couch and never get up again until it’s time to get a snack. Don’t get it twisted, relaxation can still be stylish. It’s called luxury.
There are none other who do luxury better than the Spanish. Spanish-style rooms are a surefire way to ensure that your living room is stylish, minimal, but most importantly, cozy. If you are looking to create a space that invites you in and begs you to stay, this is the collection for you.
We can notice that Spanish-style rooms will often come boasting organic materials like wood, clay, and rough metals. We can look for gorgeous tiling, extravagant ceilings, and almost certainly stone fireplaces. Furniture is kept modest and decorations are too, allowing for the beautiful natural materials of the room to shine their brightest.
1. The Modest & Modern Spanish Style Living Room
Floors & Walls: We’re starting out this collection with a wonderfully quaint room. Homes don’t have to be huge to allow for supremely stylish and luxurious rooms! (Especially in this economy, lol).
This beautiful space starts with some rustic hardwood floors in the coziest hue, with crisp white walls that guide you towards an even more rustic, vaulted ceiling boasting these robust exposed wooden beams. That is a statement piece you cannot deny.
Furniture: Here we have a great example of simple furniture doing a ton of work. This very simple sofa is plush and low to the ground, creating a very inviting feel, and it is matched with some more sparse and spindly pieces. The tables feature thin metal framing and glass tops to help create space, as well as these stunning wood framed accent chairs.
Decor: I find this room to be very sweetly decorated. Simple table lamps don’t take your eyes away from the striking golden leaves on the walls which match the circular mirror above the fireplace. The throw pillows and blankets also do a great job of bringing the colors present in the abstract painting into the rest of the space. Very smart and subtle styling if you ask me!
2. The Spanish-Style Library Lounge
Floors & Walls: While the other way a more modern take, this space is a more classic, early 2000’s version of a Spanish-style room, and I am absolutely all the way here for it.
This space starts with some glorious hardwood floors in a cherry stain, and absolutely glorious stucco walls. Also, can we appreciate all of the arched doorways? Why is this not more common? There are too many squares in Western society I can’t TAKE IT ANYMORE. Also we must note the glorious vaulted ceiling with beams that have been painted white to brighten up the space.
Furniture: We have more classic style furniture here with a plump little cream colored couch and a corresponding ovular coffee table. Clearly what makes this room the most special is the huge shelf containing a rather impressive set of books, as well as the built in shelves on either side of the french doors leading outside.
Decor: This room is very simply decorated with a green vase for some flowers, some patterned throw pillows, a beautiful vintage rug, and what more artwork do you need than an incredible collection of books? It’s like free artwork! They’re colorful and they’re conversation starters!

3. The Tonal & Tame Living Room
Floors & Walls: I really love this room. It’s so bright and spacious, inviting and stylish. It all starts with some super richly stained, dark hardwood floors that contrast marvelously against the crisp white walls. The wooden beams on the vaulted ceiling match the floors perfectly, while the wood used for the window framing is a bit lighter and provides a really gentle warm element.
Furniture: This room features some timeless furniture pieces, including an ivory sofa with high arms and wooden legs, creating a piece that is both elegant and comfortable. A classic midcentury modern low-set coffee table ties everything to the centre, while gorgeous woven accent seats with super dark hardwood framing bring a bit of drama to the space.
Decor: The decor in this space is both simple and elegant, with wonderful floor lamps, happy plants, a really cozy area rug and a simple perfect credenza in the corner of the room. Just divine!

4. The Rustic but Fresh Farmhouse Living Room
Floors & Walls: Though this is a rather glimpse of the room, the stylish and comfort of it is undeniable. Newer hardwood floors with a more gray tone to them is a clear sign of modernity, while we go back to the classic with gorgeous arched entryways and exposed wooden beams on the ceiling. These are very Spanish-inspired elements.
Furniture: This room is simple made incredible by this enormous sectional sofa. Clearly meant for big families, this beautiful linen colored plush sofa is enormous but timelessly stylish. A rustic, metal framed wooden coffee table is the perfect shape to nestle right into it.
Decor: This space is so simple decorated with a wrought iron candle chandelier hanging from the ceiling, sweet paintings hung up on the walls, a cozy woven rug, and some lovely throw pillows with a subtle pattern and velour dazzle to spice up the sofa.

5. The View Room Lounge
Floors & Walls: My gosh! Wouldn’t you just love to have a long conversation in this space? It’s bright, open, fresh, while still be cozy, intimate, and ever so stylish. It all starts with some newer hardwood floors with a lovely beachy feel, and some crisp white walls that come contrasted by some hardwood beams in the ceiling. We can all agree that this room simply wouldn’t be as fantastic as it is if it weren’t for these amazing windows revealing the greenery outside.
Furniture: These are some glorious sofas mirroring on another with a dark, midnight blue velour upholstery and high backs to create a real lounge effect. These are super offset by some wildly rustic stools that act as little side tables, and don’t think I didn’t notice those sexy leather director’s chairs in the back!
Decor: I really love the decorating style of this space, from the subtle patterned rug to the potpourri of throw pillows. Happy fiddle leaf ficus plants decorate the corners, while a very classic iron chandelier brings an element of vintage charm that we always love to see.

6. The Mid-Century Modern Dream Living Room
Floors & Walls: I think that this one is probably my favorite in the whole collection. Every element is so gorgeously simple, but come together to create something that I find to be so serene and so special.
Dark hardwood floors meet creamy walls, while dark hardwood trim has been used for the doorways and walls, which is a contrast I absolutely live for. I also appreciate how something as simple as an arched ceiling makes a room feel totally unique.
Furniture: The furniture choices in this space are really what hit it home for me. A simple cream colored sofa is met with gorgeous midcentury modern pieces like the leaf shaped coffee table and the glorious wooden accent chairs. I adore the rattan chair on the other side of the room, and I also adore the eclectic flare that the ottoman provides.
Decor: I adore how this space is decorated with textures. We have a woven area rug to marry all of the furniture pieces together, and a cowhide to kind of separate that other little seating area.

7. The Airy & Elegant Lounge Room
Floors & Walls: Now this is elegance at it’s finest. With a room this marvelously constructed, you could just have a bunch of pillows tossed into the middle and it would still be incredible to behold.
This room features gorgeous antique hardwood floors (you can usually tell because the beams will be far more wide and textured) and cream colored walls. Hardwood beams on the tall ceilings have been left to provide a striking contrast.
Furniture: Only the best furniture has been saved for this space, and I think it’s so clever that each piece, although different, all have golden legs and framing. A caramel colored leather sofa sits across from two gorgeous lounger chairs and a plush ottoman. I love ottomans!
Decor: This room sports my personal favorite style of decorating: not all that much. The room and furniture speaks for itself, while huge plants bring freshness, throw pillows bring a bit of pattern, and huge wood framed windows give you all the artwork you need thanks to the generous view that they provide.

8. The Vivacious Vacation Home Living Space
Floors & Walls: We’re getting back into the more traditional Spanish-style features with this space and it’s about time! This space is simply stunning with gorgeous rust colored tiles for the floors, cream colored walls with arched entryways, and one of the most glorious coffered ceilings that I’ve ever seen.
Furniture: I kind of love the symmetry that we’re getting with the furniture arrangement in this space. Classic white sofas sit across from a marbled coffee table, beautifully wooden framed accent chairs with pink cushions sit aside matching golden accent tables with matching table lamps. Even the candlesticks beside the fireplace and vases sit atop it match!
Decor: I’m noticing that the furniture in this room is really what provides the decoration. Each piece is so expertly picked that not much else is needed in way of decorating. That is a true test of style!

9. The Romantic Room
Floors & Walls: While I don’t adore the the furniture choices for this room, the space just had to be included for sheer extravagance of the construction of the room. It all starts with glorious shined limestone tiles, cream colored walls with all sorta of arched frames and built in shelves, but obviously the star of the show is this absolutely incredible coffered ceiling that’s lined with red bricks. Truly, spectacular.
Furniture: A huge sectional sofa in a light gray/blue color I find doesn’t allow the main features of the room to pop, but I do love the sofa on its own. The live edge coffee table feels a little bit too rustic next to the slick couch, and the end table doesn’t match the coffee table at all.
Decor: Ignoring the centre of the room, I do absolutely adore everything that’s going on with the outskirts. The built-in walls shelves have clever lighting implemented to properly illuminate the trinkets inside, gorgeous chandeliers dangle from the ceiling, and I just want to peek in to the rest of the house so badly!

10. The Most Stylish Sitting Room
Floors & Walls: What a special and cozy little den! While this room is rather large and airy, the way that the tones have been used help make it feel very quaint and inviting. I tall starts with gloriously dark hardwood floors that are met with white walls, wood framed windows in every direction, and a vaulted ceiling with exposed wooden beams.
Furniture: We have such a lovely collection of furniture pieces in this space, starting with a very inviting chocolate colored sofa with deep steps, which is sat beside a more prim and proper cream suede sofa with brass buttons lining the edges. Dark hardwood tables work super well against the lighter tons, while the accent chairs emblemize the color scheme of the room with dark hardwood framing and ivory cushions. I also adore the little seating area underneath the back window; the perfect place for tea!
Decor: Such simple decorations go such a long way in this room. A candle-style chandelier brings a rustic element, dainty table lamps bring something chic, and a variety of throw pillows bring both pattern and color to the room. Glorious!

11. The Elegance Living Space
Floors & Walls: There’s something interesting about this room but I can’t quite put my finger on it. The hardwood floors are obviously stunning and go beautifully with the cream colored walls, elegant wooden window framing, and majestic vaulted ceiling with robust wooden beams. We also can’t ignore this amazing marble stone fireplace that juts out from the wall.
Furniture: I think the furniture pieces are what feel kind of surprising. This is a unique sofa with a high back and low arms, in what looks like light brown velour. What feels really surprising is these wild, bubble gum pink accent chair with super curved arms and backs. Though I do love the touch of matching them with the vase of flowers in the middle. The sweet little breakfast dining area is also to die for. 10/10
Decor: I hate that portrait. Get it outta there!

12. The Kitschy & Cozy Spanish-Style Living Space
Floors & Walls: We’re finishing off this collection with a very special room. I find this space to be so beautiful, bright, and inviting. It starts out with some beachy stained hardwood floors and white walls that have all sorts of fun stuff built in like shelves and a fireplace. I love the tall ceilings in this room, which really make way for these glorious bay windows.
Furniture: The furniture! Such special pieces I don’t even know where to begin! This sofa is so interesting with its low and chunky wooden frame and super plush patterned cushion. This circular coffee table made from antique wood is just to die for, and though we can’t see the entire things, you know that these loungers are something to behold. I also adore the rustic bench being used to host plants in the happy window.
Decor: My personal favorite type of decorating: just with your own personal effects (that have more or less of a utile function). Tons of happy plants bring freshness and life, sweet vases and sculptures adorn the shelves, and the stack of firewood is such a warm and cozy touch!
