This $24.9 million mansion deploys a terrific design hack that any homeowner can do with some black accents throughout the home without spending a fortune. Check out this home below and see what I mean. I never would have guessed that the interior looks as it does in this home.ย This is a typical Mediterranean-style home, or so it looks.ย Usually, this style of home has a warm interior with earth tones throughout. Not this particular home and the best part is the result is stunning. I’m a huge fan and it’s super fun because nobody would expect it entering.ย For context, this home has 7,107 sq. ft., six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.ย Also, the home does a 180 shift with the kitchen design.ย It too is beautiful but it’s so different. Very interesting combination. Check it out.
On the outside, it’s a beautiful upscale Mediterranean mansion

Coming in at 7,107 sq. ft. this Mediterranean home is a mansion. Situated on a waterfront property in none other than Miami Beach, the classic Mediterranean facade fits in beautifully. It’s so Florida. While I could sit and stare at its exterior beauty for a long time, let’s head inside because you will be in for a surprise. IMO, a very pleasant surprise.
BAM! Pristine contemporary glam style in almost all white and very light beige beautifully accented with pops of black everywhere largely through use of inexpensive decor accents (throw pillows, coffee table etc.). I love this.

There’s so much to take in here, all of it good. There’s plenty of white offset with a muted beige bordering on light grey and then it’s all made gorgeous with pops of black throughout. This is a layered, sophisticated design that looks simple. It’s so perfectly done.
The towering marble fireplace doesn’t get any better yet it’s still fairly muted which is why the charcoal grey and black throughout magnificently accents this home’s interior

Up close you’ll notice the throw pillows are nuanced in color choices in that it creates texture and contrast without too much contrast. This is achieved with the various throw pillow colors including one that matches the sofa. You get the same with the trio of coffee tables. It’s a masterful design and you can bet your last dollar that none of this is an accident.
Look at those windows framed in black and then flanked with the longest draperies I’ve ever seen

Those massive arched windows are an homage to the Mediterranean style which is so cool because it’s an effective way to tie in the contemporary glam with its Mediterranean exterior. The black rim is perfect and again it’s softened with the floor to soaring ceiling draperies.
From this angle you’ll notice the large front door is black which is perfectly done from this view given the long bridge walkway is stark white

I’m glad the front door is black and interestingly, the black comes off more dramatically from the inside than outside. Seriously, check back to the front facade and you’ll notice the door is indeed black but not as dramatic as it shows up from the inside.
This is where it gets interesting because there’s also woodwork in the home and while sometimes wood clashes with a more pristine glam look, it works beautifully in this home

With the media center, the interior designer took a huge chance IMO by introducing another material (wood) and color (wood tone) into the mix. Fortunately, with AI interior design software and other rendering software, both designer and client would know what it looked like before it was actually done but still, it’s a gutsy move that worked well.
It’s a family room within a living room taking advantage of the double-sided fireplace. The same black and charcoal grey accents work equally well in the family room.

This family room blows my mind because it’s not in the living room but also no separate. It brilliantly takes advantage of the double-sided fireplace. I do wonder what it would be like with both TVs on at the same time in this room. I suspect it would be fabulous if the same game is one but not so great with two different shows.
The exact same decor extends into the massive billiard and media room space. Look closely and you’ll see that the billiard table pockets are black and hence contrasting perfectly with the custom white table. The attention to detail is second-to-none.

Again, black accents and again, dark wood create this dramatic yet contemp glam game room into a thing of beauty. Lesser designers (and budgets lol) would not commission a custom white and black billiards table. It’s definitely a showstopper.
Now we get a pan of the main living space and there’s the black grand piano set against the otherwise white room

Taking it all in there’s a black grand piano (of course there is) off the foyer serving as both a functional piece as well as glamorous showpiece when entering the home. You can’t miss it surrounded ina pristine white room.
The black accent concept also extends to the dining room with the all black table

Normally a table would take up more space in a home but this place is huge and so the black dining table, which is perfect, serves more as an ornament from the main living space than a showpiece. I do like the beige chairs and glam lighting which does help the dining area pop some.
Whoa… talk about a left turn with the kitchen. It’s totally different than the rest of the home

Lastly, we come to the kitchen which is a fascinating 180-degree turn from the rest of the home featured. Now it’s a mid-grey among plenty of light wood. It’s almost as if the kitchen is the exact opposite of the rest of the home carrying on the design theme of “contrast” on a meta level. Interesting concept. Regardless, the kitchen is beautiful and like the surprise one gets entering into the home, that carries on when entering the kitchen. Listing agent: Jill Eber @ Coldwell Banker Realty
