Location: Malibu, CAAlthough the original Star Trek series lasted for only three seasons, its optimistic view of the future was enduring enough to create a wealth of spin-offs, including movies and other TV shows. Trekkies are notoriously fervent fans, so if you’re looking to own a piece of Trek history, you can buy the house featured in Season Three of Star Trek: The Next Generation. This Malibu home is currently on the market for $5.695 million. At 3,699 square feet, and with a two-acre lot, you can live out your sci-fi dreams in style.
It’s easy to see why this property caught the eyes of the Next Generation production crew. With its modern, sleek, angular design, it already seems pretty futuristic. Although the home was built in 1981, it comes with a laundry list of modern conveniences. From natural bamboo wood flooring to a fully-integrated sound system, you have all the trappings of 20th-Century life.
One of the primary highlights of this property is its airy feel. The structure has plenty of large windows to let natural light come in throughout the day. Plus, since you’re in Malibu, you won’t be hurting for gorgeous days. The lot is spacious and minimalist, but the listing does suggest that the new owners can let their creativity run wild. There’s more than enough room for a decked-out swimming pool, or you can put up a horse stable on the property instead. Perhaps you can build a massive replica of the USS Enterprise?
Overall, while there aren’t a ton of bells and whistles, the minimalist design of its interior and exterior are perfect for clearing the mind. This is the ideal house for anyone looking for a personalized sanctuary. Plus, the ocean views and terraces surrounding the property are suitable for entertaining. We highly recommend hosting outdoor screening parties for friends and fellow Trekkies.
The Name’s Picard, Jean-Luc Picard
This house got its claim to fame during season three of the highly-acclaimed show, Star Trek: The Next Generation. In the episode, Captain Picard and his crew land on a seemingly desolate planet. The only structure for miles is this one, which houses two mysterious survivors. They claim that the neighborhood was stolen by a spaceship, and it’s up to the crew to figure out what happened.
Next to the original Star Trek, TNG is probably the second-most beloved series in the whole franchise. Running from 1987 to 1994, the show won numerous awards, including Emmys and a Peabody in 1988. Sir Patrick Stewart’s stalwart captain was the moral anchor of the show, and side characters like Data and Worf continue to be fan favorites. Now, you can relive the episode and become a part of Trek history with this home.
