The Modern Penthouse is an innovative new home in Kansas City, Missouri, designed with an open-plan, cutting-edge-of-contemporary style in mind. The main body of the interior seamlessly blends kitchen, dining, and living room spaces into a single room, connected by large format tile flooring and a coherent lighting and design scheme.
The name of the game in this home is high end modern design, with luxurious, forward thinking elements informing every aspect of the home. Our gallery may focus on the main open-plan space, but every area within the home is remarkably of-a-piece with the central design language.
There are several details that truly pop within this interior, drawing attention to the modern styling. Look for the all-glass floating wine rack, pictured above, the marble wrapped fireplace wall, and the immaculately placed lighting. You’ll notice a glowing custom walk-in closet, expansive primary bedroom en suite, and even an abundance of artwork, highlighting the creative nature of the space itself.
With its dense mixture of progressive elements and thoughtful styling, this home is one of the premier examples of modern design today.
The living room within the open-plan space centers a leather sectional and bright orange lounges over a large multi-colored area rug, with the dining, kitchen, and full window wall in background. Exquisite details abound, including glass coffee table, large format tile flooring, and multiple layers of lighting throughout.
The dining table, a minimalist piece in glass and natural wood, also centers on a colorful area rug, with a set of grey upholstered chairs and a metal-and-wood modern bench set. The walls beyond show a mixture of rich wood and marble, as well as white on the upper levels and over the expanse of windows.
The kitchen centers on a large, sleek white island with ample barstool seating and a built-in range. Natural wood cabinetry surrounds the island in contrast, with countertops spreading below the immense, nearly full-height windows surrounding. The “floating” glass wine rack can be seen towering at right.
Here we have a close view at the living room corner, embraced by a massive marble wall with gas fireplace embedded at center. The bright orange chairs stand out from the stately tone of the room, abetted by a matching burst of birds-of-paradise on the coffee table.
Here we have the sprawling primary bedroom en suite, with a full family room-style relaxing space, across an expanse of light hardwood flooring from the sleeping quarters. A bathroom can be seen through glass, next to the bed.
This bathroom is defined by a dazzling micro-tile wall in soft blue and red, with a floating white vanity housing natural wood cabinet doors.
The custom designed walk-in closet is seen behind a glass and metal pocket door, with inner-lit shelving and an array of rich wood drawers and cabinetry making for a sparkling appearance.
