Welcome to our gallery featuring the Malvern home by Robson Rak Architects and Interior Design.
The contemporary styling of this home is balanced with a rich sense of texture.
A wide variety of materials interact in every aspect of the design, lending it a timeless quality.
The designers aimed for a very modern look, with an open plan layout sprawling over white stone flooring. The surrounding walls are flush with detail and texture, bringing the space to life.
At the center of the home is the sprawling open area that contains the living room, dining, and kitchen functions. Within this area alone, we see rich natural wood, red bricks, white walls, and sleek wood paneling.
The living room is defined by a massive feature wall of aged wood, standing out in rustic contrast to the sleek flooring and layout. At the center is a large contemporary sectional sofa.
Just beyond, the dining room area stands below the floor to ceiling rustic wood, standing out with its own bright natural wood table and black chairs.
The kitchen features a full floor to ceiling rack of sleek natural wood cabinetry, free of clutter and hardware. This style furthers the timeless appeal of the design.
With large folding glass panels connecting the open plan interior with the backyard, the home can become fully integrated with the outdoors. Once the panels are opened, the line between indoors and out becomes blurred.
The rest of the home features fresh takes on the same combination of elements, including black steel, glass, and more rich natural wood paneling.

The large living room is bordered by rustic wood walls, a brick fireplace, and massive windows. The lengthy contemporary sofa anchors the vast room at center.
The kitchen features a large white island with unique natural wood shelving tucked beneath the countertop. Beyond, we see the floor to ceiling natural wood cabinetry, sleek and modern styled.
Just beyond the large windows, we can see the sprawling deck and walled-in backyard to the right. The glass panels retract to open the kitchen and living room up to this area.
The fireplace is an integral part of the house, with its red brick construction anchoring the ultra-modern interior in a more timeless atmosphere. With built-in storage for firewood, it’s as useful as it is beautiful.
Moving outside, we see the fully integrated landscape and patio, combining many comforts of home with a sprawling lawn and balustrade-wrapped pool.
Moving down the hall toward the more private areas of the home, we see extensive natural wood flooring, contrasting with the white walls. A sliding door blocks off this space for social gatherings.
This home office provides a rare burst of color in the home, with floral wallpaper backing the rich natural wood desk.
The primary bedroom continues the mixture of dark hardwood flooring and white walls, with a more ornate, old-fashioned look. Bedside light is provided by a pair of uniquely long pendant lights, wrapped in glass.
The bathroom is a very minimalist space, with dark large format tile flooring and a floating vanity in charcoal and natural wood. The room features a skylight for added natural light.
The primary bath features a massive window for expansive views over the landscape. With a floating vanity and large, oval-shaped soaking tub, it’s a comfortable and handsome space.
