Welcome to our featured home, the “American Spirit” home in Oregon by Garrison Hullinger Interior Design.
The homeowners, now empty-nesters, were ready to build a home made for entertaining, so Garrison Hullinger designed this gorgeous home with extra emphasis on entertaining guests in a way where the owners could play host and still be involved with the party.
This was accomplished by creating a seamless transition from the exterior of the home to the indoor living space, via a series of folding glass doors.
The kitchen, with the main cooking area shown above, has several passthroughs and archways to other sections of the home so that the owners can interact with their guests while cooking or grabbing extra refreshments.
The home also has a home bar in the recreation room, which is fully stocked with a sink, ice maker, dishwasher, wine cooler, and even has a secret door to a hidden wine room. The main floor has breathtaking views of Mt. Hood for the homeowner’s guests to enjoy.
We hope you’ll enjoy this fantastic home!
The entryway to the home is in both hardwood and tile. The staircase has two tight flights of stairs up to the upper level. The sidelights and transoms of the front door give it the illusion of being much larger than it is.
The light and bright living room has a large sectional in cream and two additional patterned armchairs. Two circular ottomans sit in front of the screened fireplace. The living room has soaring cathedral ceilings and enormous seamless windows.
The home office has a modestly sized desk, built-in shelving, and two patterned chairs in cream. The vaulted ceiling has dark exposed wood beams.
One of the bedrooms in the home in a light blue-gray. The textured bedding is coupled with a silky gray bedspread. Bold orange is used as an accent color in the chair, throw pillows, and lamp.
The guest bathroom has a stone tile shower with a glass door. The bathroom is in a warm neutral beige.
The expansive kitchen has plenty of counter space that allows multiple cooks to move freely around the kitchen. The three light fixtures above the kitchen island are simple glass globes. The ample white cabinetry takes advantage of the sheer size of the room.
The opposite side of the kitchen, featuring an additional workspace and a passthrough to the family room. French doors open into the kitchen from the family room as well.
The master bedroom is in light neutrals, but brightens up the space with a green and teal peacock-print bedspread and throw pillows. The nightstand has a mirrored front with a circular pattern.
The master bedroom also has a sitting area near the large window. On the right is a beautiful dark wood dresser and the door to the walk-in closet.
The on-suite bathroom has a fantastic, deep soaking tub with high-end fixtures. To the right is the shower stall in striped brown stone tiles.
A closer look at the shower stall reveals the size of the shower, and the herringbone tile pattern on the back wall.
The walk-in closet has drawers for shoe storage, a storage island in the center, and full length mirrors on the back wall. The soft carpet is in a light beige.
The rec room has a linen sectional and a faux leather recliner in chocolate brown. It also includes a large built-in entertainment center and a small game table.
Behind the main television watching area is the home bar and a game table. The bar area is complete with an ice maker, dishwasher, and wine cooler.
The built-in shelving swings open to reveal a hidden wine room.
A view of the rec room showing both the seating arrangement and the bar. The spacious room has plenty of room for a Superbowl party.
