23 Elegant Foyers with Spectacular Chandeliers
Welcome to our gallery featuring a collection of spacious, elegant foyers that feature chandeliers.
Chandeliers bring to mind class, elegance, and a life of luxury, so it’s no surprise that we love to see them in homes.
Foyers are one of two rooms where we see them most often, the other being dining rooms. The reason we see chandeliers much more often in foyers and dining rooms has to do with the average height of each room.
Foyers that play host to chandeliers have higher ceilings, or hang the chandelier in the empty space between the second floor and the first next to the staircase.
It’s no coincidence that many of these foyers include both luxurious chandeliers and incredible staircases. The addition of a staircase to an entryway is a traditional design scheme that adds purpose to the elegance of the foyer.
The foyer was originally intended as an air-lock, insulating the rest of the home from the colder doorway.
It acts today as a portal into the rest of the home, typically featuring doors to all of the main living areas of the home’s ground floor, along with a staircase leading up to the second floor if applicable.
In many homes, the foyer is also used to store outer garments and shoes of any guests or residents, particularly if no mudroom is available.
This gallery features many foyers with a similar design theme, because chandeliers don’t always fit with every decor style–in particular, modern or minimalist design.
We hope you’ll enjoy this fantastic collection of traditionally styled formal foyers with chandeliers.
