Blue is growing in popularity (see trend chart at bottom of this article). While I don’t care for entire rooms in blue, I do like blue accents, especially dark, rich blues.

2. Blue Kitchens
Blue is a great color to build into your kitchen design. Blue has a lot of versatility as color and can act as a substitute for a white or a black if you pick a very light or very dark hue respectively. Blue also is a great accentuator of the texture of tiles, cabinets, or countertops, and can be adapted to a variety of different lighting conditions.

3. Blue Primary Bedrooms
Blue will work with a number of popular styles out there. Farmhouse themes and Beach styles, for example, utilize blue very well as these are usually softer and brighter in their color schemes. Contemporary, traditional, and country styles will also use blue without a lot of difficulties. Their stronger accents and daring design features allow the use of the full blue spectrum. These themes work best with blue as an accent color or a primary color. With a little planning though, you can use blue to its full potential.

Gone are the days when bathrooms were dreary, functional rooms, consisting of only a flush toilet, kept well away from the main houses. For several decades now, bathrooms have entered the house — and they are here to stay. Nowadays, the bathrooms are bigger and better than ever. The puritan notions of bathrooms as impure, filthy places are gone. Today, they are a place of relaxation, luxury, and enjoyment.

5. Blue Living Rooms
Whether you have a Mediterranean style living room or a cozy Farmhouse style, blue is a color that compliments every living room style. Blue is easy to look at, it’s calming, it surrounds us in our everyday lives; blue is an excellent choice for your living room. Painting your whole room blue, depending on the shade, might be a little overwhelming for your personal style. If you don’t want to commit to four walls of blue, you can always paint one wall as an accent wall or break up the color with colors that compliment blue.
