Welcome to our gallery featuring the intriguing Saugatuck residence by Karen Garlanger Designs.
This creative, contemporary home interior folds a variety of tones and textures into a cohesive space.
The look is contemporary, yet suffused with traditional materials for a timeless look.
The first thing visitors notice might be the expansive, open floor plan that makes a relatively compact layout feel humongous. Then again, they might notice the abundance of rich materials, from hardwood flooring to the brightly colored furniture.
The biggest unifying factor is a sense of cohesion, with every element of the home’s style locking together for the big picture.
The chosen furniture leans toward timeless elegance, with midcentury modern inspired sofa and chairs in the living room, sleek white dining room chairs, and classic rich wood dressers in the bedrooms.
The house is also a place of subtle surprises, such as the bold green cabinetry that defines the kitchen. These sleekly styled cupboards offer an injection of passion and modern charm into the space.
One particularly unique flourish is the appearance of glass door cabinetry at one end of the room, turning the storage into a display space.
The large open living room area centers on a broad white brick fireplace wall, housing an array of subtly varied furniture colors over its hardwood flooring. Subtle embedded ceiling lights supplement the abundant sunlight pouring through large front windows.
While the bedrooms all feature subtle variations on a familiar neutral palette, each boasts a distinctive element, setting it apart.
