The Pumpkin House is an old-world manor house built on the cliff overlooking the Hudson River. This house is now on the market priced at $4.25 million.

The house is on Manhattan’s highest peak and cantilevered 265 feet above the Hudson River. It consists of 12 rooms, three levels, six bedrooms, three bathrooms, and expansive views. The house has a pumpkin tone to its exteriors, elegant moldings, and wall panels. It has a one-bedroom guest apartment, an attached garage, and a private garden that leads to the entrance.

Fondly referred to as The Pumpkin House, the 12-room home cantilevers out over the highest point of land in Manhattan overlooking the Hudson River. Many think it looks pumpkinish due to appearing somewhat like a jack o’ lantern when lit by the sunset. The three-level house was built in 1925, understandably for an engineer, and has had only several owners. The expansive views across the river to the New Jersey Palisades Cliffs and sweeps from the George Washington Bridge up to the Tappan Zee Bridge.

The house is designed in the style of an old-world manor house with elegant moldings and wall panels and consists of six bedrooms and three full baths. The current owner, William Spink, an interior designer, rents out the lower floor as a one-bedroom apartment and lives on the upper two levels and the roof terrace.

The garage is attached to the wall of a private garden which path leads to the entrance. While in residence, Spink has replaced the roof and refreshed the entry along with kitchen appliances and other touches.
