The Many Values and Hues Of Brown
The “value” of a brown refers to how light or dark the brown is. If you think about how dark a mahogany wood table is, and then imagine an oak floor, you will see that there are many values of brown, ranging from dark to incredibly light. This broad range makes brown a very versatile color to use in your design.
“Hue” refers to a colors position on the color wheel. Browns come in many different hues; some have red undertones, while some lean closer towards blues or greens on the color wheel. Many browns go well together, and combining different hues will give your space a balanced appearance.
