My first memory of Jane Fonda is as a personality. I knew about her just because she was so famous as I was growing up in the 1980’s. It was weird because I hadn’t seen her in a movie yet was very aware of her being such a big celebrity. Then I saw the movie “Stanley & Iris” which I loved. Since then I’ve seen “On Golden Pond”, “Monster in Law” and “Georgia Rule”. Admittedly I haven’t seen her best work, but I’m sure I will some day because I am a fan.

While celebrities loom larger than life, they really are like the rest of us in many ways including that they move from one residence to another. While some celebs collect homes, most sell and move into a new home.
Jane Fonda recently moved from her long-time Beverly Hills mansion into a very tasteful town home. This Jane Fonda homes page features both houses. Here they are.
1. Jane Fonda’s New Home
There is not much that I don’t love about this $5.45 million home.
First off, I’ve never seen a townhouse with 6,679 square feet. Normally a townhouse is for downsizing, but I guess in SoCal, you can still live in a palace that’s a townhouse.
Second, I really like the interior design of this home. It’s spacious, yet not overly so. Plenty of white combined with wood gives it a clean, yet warm feel. Jane has great taste.
Throughout the 6,679 square feet is a formal living room, but it’s not so formal to be uncomfortable. In fact, it’s my favorite room.
There’s also both a formal dining room as well as in-kitchen dining area.. which just happens to open up to a large patio courtyard with another dining area. There’s also a family room in the kitchen/dining area as well creating a large open concept living space.
The home includes a 3 car garage, 2 bedrooms, including sumptuous primary suite with a balcony plus office. You’ll notice that this home is beautifully and uniformly designed throughout.
Jane has lived in gorgeous homes most of her life, being the daughter of iconic actor Henry Fonda and then enjoying tremendous success herself on screen and selling extremely popular fitness videos. She could likely afford a home three times the cost of this one, but probably realizes there’s more to life than having a gargantuan 12,000+ mansion. She’ll no doubt be very comfortable here.

About Century City
Located just outside of downtown Los Angeles, Century City is an upscale urban neighborhood of the greater Los Angeles area. In recent years Los Angeles has enjoyed revitalization as more business and residents move to the downtown core.

Century City is a mix of business and residential. As you can see in the above map, it’s very centrally located which is a convenience for someone as busy as Jane Fonda. An interest fact is Century City is exactly 176 acres in size formally being a ranch until it was developed commercially and into residential homes.
While not well known to people who don’t live in the L.A. area, it’s located near the very well known neighborhoods such as Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills, Brentwood and Hollywood.
2. Jane Fonda’s Former Beverly Hills Mansion
The impression I get of Jane Fonda is that she’s not terribly materialistic. While this home is definitely beautiful, it’s not ostentatious. It’s not all the huge in relation to so many other homes owned by celebrities of her stature and net worth.
This home is 7,100 square feet and is open, includes a beautiful pool, privacy and an elevator.
My favorite aspects of this home are the living room, the landing/hallways, the primary bedroom and the pool area.
Yes, this is a large home relative to the average home, but it’s also a casually designed home. It’s comfortable yet has some very nice contemporary touches such as the entryway and elevator with plenty of wood and glass.
