Danny McBride is an American actor, comedian, and writer known for his role in HBO television series Eastbound & Down and Vice Principals. He has also starred in films such as The Foot Fist Way, Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder, Up in the Air, Your Highness, This Is the End, and Alien: Covenant.

McBride was born in Statesboro, Georgia. His parents both work at Marine Corps Base Quantico as civilian support. McBride attended college in North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina before starting his career in the low-budget comedy film The Foot Fist Way, which he played the role of Fred Simmons where he also co-wrote with collaborators Jody Hill and Ben Best. He then followed up by starring in the HBO original comedy series Eastbound & Down playing as Kenny Powers, a washed up former major league baseball pitcher with anger management issues., which he also wrote together with Hill and Best.

Additionally, McBride starred in the HBO comedy series Vice Principals from 2016 to 2017 and currently, he is co-writing a script with David Gordon Green for a sequel to Halloween.
