Welcome to our gallery showcasing the gorgeous, natural Hinterland House, a project designed by Shaun Lockyer Architects.
Standing in the The Hinterland House takes its inspiration from the stunning ridge lines surrounding the site, as well as the vertical rhythm of the towering eucalypts occurring naturally throughout the landscape.
The solid hardwood construction, along with soft hues reflecting the colors of the mountains, long country veranda, and trussed internal spaces create a relaxed atmosphere allowing for effortless occupation.
The design allows many of the interior spaces to open to the environment, blending the landscape with the home.
The rich mixture of natural materials combines with striking, contemporary style for a unique hybrid home. The project nods toward the past and the natural surroundings while standing proudly progressive.
By embracing the legacy of the Australian colonial idyll in a contemporary reinterpretation, the elegant yet charmingly utilitarian farmhouse is simultaneously fragile and monumental, truly capturing the spirit of the place.
