Lake Lugano House by JM Architecture is an example of a small, energy efficient home that is very aesthetically pleasing and unique.
Situated on a hill, the property has an unobstructed view of Lake Lugano. The home has 2 levels. There’s the above-ground glass pavilion (see above and below). Due to the sloping property, the lower level also has plenty of light (see the bedroom image from outside below).
The upper pavilion contains the kitchen, living and dining room and storage space. Below are the bedrooms, bathrooms and garage.
Notice how the exterior closely resembles the interior. This is intentional… the property was designed as a whole integrating interior and exterior space.
The property offers views of Lake Lugano and mountains. The designer and architect, Jacopo Mascheroni took advantage of the stunning surroundings by including as many windows as possible and designing a structure that in which there are views from every room.
Finally, we would be remiss if we failed to mention the home’s advanced energy efficient systems which include geothermal heating and cooling,ย a green roof, rain water collection system and leafy deciduous trees on the south-west part of the property to shield the sun during the latter part of the day.
