We are pleased to bring you a brand new gallery featuring the beautiful Ironside home by Base Architecture.
The Brisbane, Australia based company has crafted another ultra-modern space using traditional materials, suffusing the interior of this timber clad home with strikingly progressive aesthetic.
A large open-design living room space is the centerpiece upon which the rest of the home revolves, with full dining and kitchen areas integrate beneath its two-story ceiling. Rooms in the upper levels overlook this area, framed in glass panels for safety and transparency.
The overall theme tying the home together is a rich mixture of natural materials in bold, modern arrangements.
Sharp angles meet marble and timber, pristine white and dark black hues create tension and contrast, and a myriad of retractible, full height windows and glass doors allow the home to share the environment with the outdoors.
The minimalist box shape of the exterior allows for a surprising amount of innovation within and without. The timber cladding adds a natural element to the contemporary shape.
The back yard is framed by a raised lido pool at left and angled wood panel fence and overhang at right. Retractible glass panels allow the interior to open completely to the outdoors.
Dark wood patio continues in tiers down the length of the yard, paired with the large beams and smaller timber slats at right, for a contemporary styled yet natural look. The overhead planks create a fully shaded walkway.
Moving indoors, we see a lush collection of contemporary furniture over glossy hardwood flooring. White surroundings highlight the ultra-modern details like glass safety walls defining the two levels overlooking this space.
The kitchen is a lengthy space defined within the large open area by the marble topped island at center. An array of retractible window panels at right opens the space toward the outdoors.
Looking back from the kitchen, we see the array of white sofas and the black wall behind the television creating contrast, with retractible glass door panels and overhead windows illuminating the entire space. Lengthy marble countertop can be seen at left.
With a vertical, angled look, we can see the upper level spaces overlooking the living room, with a large central dark wood wall dividing the area. The bold mixture of colors and texture throughout is highlighted by the two full stories of windows wrapped around.
Defined within the larger open space by a large wood slat wall and placement beneath the upper level, the dining room features a large black table surrounded by metal frame, white leather upholstered chairs.
The open design natural wood staircase features glass railings, emphasizing the visual transparency. The upper level features prominent use of dark stained wood cabinetry and wall panels, in contrast with white surroundings.
The bathroom is awash in beige marble tiling from the floor on up. A floating dark wood dual vanity with white vessel sinks hangs below a pair of frameless mirrors, while open design shower is seen at left.
The bathroom gives way to an extensive walk-in closet space. Dark wood wall shelving contrasts with white island shelving at center, over the same rich hardwood flooring as seen in the living room.
The primary bedroom en suite floats above the open living room, with only a glass panel separating the space. A large circular pedestal tub stands at center, surrounded by organic textured white tile.
Looking down toward the living room rom above, we can see the high contrast between stark white furniture and sleek hardwood flooring. The lengthy backyard is seen through wide open door panels and full height windows.
Returning to the back yard, we see the well appointed pool house above the garage, reflecting the home design with retractible glass panel doors of its own. A large patio wraps around, with storage set off to the side of the structure.
The pool house can be fully opened to the elements, with a full width set of retractible windows mirroring the doors. Spartan accommodations allow for a versatile space, with a single large wood dining table set at center.
