I don’t think that there is much more to eternal happiness than the beach. There is a sensation after spending a day by the water that really allows all of the tricky things of life to just melt away. My personal goal in life is to one day live by the sea, but until then, I may just have to fake it.
One way to fake it, is to decorate like you live in a little beach town! There are key elements to this type of design aesthetic, including sandy colored floors, shades of blue and green, organic materials and bright, happy decorations.
So, whether you actually live by the water and you’re looking to get in the spirit of things, or you’re like me and you just like to manifest the life that you want, this collection is for you! Here you can find all sorts of architectural and aesthetic inspirations to carry you along your beach-inspired foyer dreams!
1. The Eastern Seaboard Cottage Foyer

Floors & Walls: We’re starting out this collection with what I think is one of the most traditional, adorable, and charming beach-style foyers of the collection. This just makes me think of the place I will want to stay for the first time I finally get to visit Maine.
This is a very simple design with beautiful, brand new, lightly stained hardwood floors with the same wood used for the staircase. The walls have been painted a super crisp and clean white which just reverberates the daylight from outside. Those are such stunning windows!
Features & Furniture: I simply adore that the only thing present in this foyer is a very generously sized day bed not only with a super cute bohemian cushion on top, but with drawers for storage underneath! This is such a clever use of space if you ask me!
Decoration: This bright and beautiful foyer is so simple, and it is perfect in its simplicity. A small collection of different textured throw pillows adds just the quaintest bit of interest, while the rest of the appeal really comes from the unbeatable beach view outside.
This incredible foyer was sourced from Redfin, and you can see the rest of the home design by clicking here.
2. The Serene Green Room
Floors & Walls: I know what you’re thinking: this isn’t a super beachy looking foyer, and you are right, but I do find that it kind of creates that same super relaxed, wonderfully serene feel that a beachy foyer could do.
This beautiful home entrance starts with gorgeous cherry wood stained floors, and walls that have been painted a lovely sage green color that is accompanied by cream colored trim. This is one of my favorite paint color combinations out there.
Features & Furniture: I appreciate how this foyer just flows right into the sitting area of the home, truly sweeping you inside with a warm invitation. Formal but cushy looking chairs sit beside some rounded, dark hardwood coffee tables. A neat little side table with intricate framing sits beside the front door and is host to our decorative area.
Decoration: This space is so elegantly decorated with sweet framed photos, lovely sculptures and decorative boxes, and a rustic circular mirror that’s framed with what looks like sticks! This space is a great combination of elegant and cozy.
This amazing foyer was designed by Garrison Hullinger Interior Design, and you can check out the rest of the home by clicking here.
3. The Classic Cozy Home Foyer
Floors & Walls: I think that this is another one of my favorites of the collection. It just reminds me of the home of my piano teacher from when I was young. There’s a very comforting sense of nostalgia in this room.
It all starts with some lovely hardwood floors and sand colored walls with white trim. The framing of the ceiling and the windowed front door has been so beautifully maintained, really showing you the timeless craftsmanship of the home.
Features & Furniture: This stunning foyer is so precious with its furniture. A sweet little bench has been built right in under the set of bay windows, making the perfect place to tie up your shoes. An antique credenza sits beside it, the perfect place to throw your keys or to store your mittens.
Decoration: I think the decorations in this room are just darling. Golden framed photos of beachy scenes is where our beach inspiration comes in, while matching bucolic curtains and drapes or both undertoned and stunning. They go so well with the room.
This wonderful foyer design is thanks to Dennis Moffitt Painting.
4. The Elegance Foyer
Floors & Walls: Now this one isn’t super beachy, but it’s just so beautiful that I found it had to make the cut. It’s such a simple idea but it’s effective! Dark hardwood floors bring amazing contrast to the linen colored walls and white trim.
Features & Furniture: I cannot believe how simple of a concept this is, and why I don’t see it more often. Having a huge library in your foyer almost turns it into a waiting room, but I also find it to be amazingly inviting and elegant.
Decoration: I think I would like this room a wee bit more if those were actual books (or maybe they’re all been turned around to keep the color scheme subdued). The satin throw pillows in tonal shades are a nice touch, too. I would replace this hyper modern coffee table with a rustic midcentury modern one. It would change the whole room!
This fantastic foyer design comes from Hogue Interior Design LLC.
5. The Stunning & Simple Foyer
Floors & Walls: This foyer is just so cute!!! This is the most Pinterest looking room I’ve ever seen! Brand new, warmly tinted laminate wood floors ground us, while high ceilings with white walls and beautiful trim work really let you know that the rest of the home is going to be just as well thought out.
Features & Furniture: I like how these pieces of furniture are very simple but manage to be quite bold at the same time. This little bench feature is smart as a place to not only put on your shoes, but to keep them! A solid table with brass framing fills the room in just the right way.
Decoration: Here we have a foyer that knows how to do simplicity correctly. We have nothing but huge and happy plants (a wonderful first thing to see both when you arrive and leave a space), some sweet little jacket hooks, and a classic circular mirror to do any last minute touch ups.
This terrific foyer has been designed by SHAPESIDE.
6. The Rustic Luxury Foyer
Floors & Walls: I find that this foyer makes me feel very curious about the rest of the home. You can tell that this is a heritage home because of the maintenance of the incredible antique floors, the walls are made from wooden planks and not dry wall, and it just looks fantastically weathered.
Features & Furniture: While I think I would have furnished this space differently (like putting a cozy chair in the corner by the turning staircase) I do appreciate the distressed table in the centre of the room. I’m just dying to see what is in the sunroom right in the next room!
Decoration: I appreciate how very muted tones have been used for this room, which is really what makes it feel beachy. It also feels beach-style because of the driftwood on the table and the sunlight streaming in through those glorious windows.

7. The Gorgeous Sunroom Foyer
Floors & Walls: This is certainly one of my favorites of the whole collection. It’s so precious and beautiful I hardly know what to do with myself. This is the perfect foyer with its slate tile floors, it’s warm white walls, and huge windows that reveal the beautiful view outdoors.
Features & Furniture: This super simple foyer is so effective with its little bench to tie your shoes, and the sweet woven basket to hold your beach towels, umbrella, tote bags, and what not.
Decoration: I think the decoration is really what makes this room so special, with hooks holding sweet scarves and hats, a little porthole mirror (a clever touch) and some fluffy throw pillows for the bench. The “no jumping on rocks” sign is particularly charming if you ask me.

8. The Zen Foyer
Floors & Walls: While the foyer itself isn’t so beachy, you can tell that there is certainly a beach in the vicinity of this home. You can just smell it. This space is so simple but so gorgeously done. I am obsessed with the mosaic style that the hardwood planks have been arranged in, the simple white walls, and the bold exposed wooden beam in the ceiling.
Features & Furniture: This minimal foyer comes equipped with nothing but a rustic side table and a wicker basket to hold your totes and slippers. Minimal, but it has all that you need.
Decoration: I love it when a foyer prepares you to have a nice time in the rest of the home, and I think that’s what this one is doing very well. The huge framed pieces of artwork let you know that this is just the beginning.

9. The Bold & Beautiful Foyer
Floors & Walls: I find that black and white is such a timeless and elegant color combination, and it’s done so well in this foyer. The bold black of the doors and the banner of the staircase creates such a dramatic contrast, while the warmth of the hardwood floors ensures that it doesn’t become too stark.
Features & Furniture: This simple foyer is doing such a fun job with so little. A rustic bench is a tucked away beside the door, while a more modern ottoman sits by the stairs with a very fluffy looking sheepskin.
Decoration: I appreciate how the framing of the ottoman matches the chandelier in the centre of the room. The boho elements like the colorful rug and throw pillows really warms everything up. And you can’t go wrong with a happy alocasia plant being the first thing that you see when you walk in the door!

10. The Perfection Foyer
Floors & Walls: I think that this is one of my favorites in the collection. It’s so minimal but just so dramatic! The light gray tiles are such a good choice with the cream colored walls and the very dramatic floors to ceiling, black framed windows. I also can’t get over how inviting that front stoop looks.
Features & Furniture: Minimal as can be, all that we see is a glorious and antique wooden framed bench with a rattan top. A very nice contrast to the hyper modern structure of the room.
Decoration: Another perfect element is this incredible fiddle leaf ficus being the only other thing in the room. I can’t get over it! It’s too good!
This wonderful foyer design came from Coats Homes.
11. The Boho-Chic Foyer

Floors & Walls: I find this foyer to be so welcoming. Such zen colors and tones have been incorporated, starting dark hardwood floors that come in high contrast to the crisp white walls. This foyer is just so bright you can’t help but feel happy when you look at it!
Features & Furniture: I really appreciate the modesty of this space. A simple, not super stylish dresser is at the front, but it lets you know that this is a family home where anything goes. Even though we just get a glimpse, that green dresser is obviously a fantastic piece, too.
Decoration: The decoration in this room is really where things start to come together. Candles guide you up the stairs, happy snake plants and mini palms bring movement and life, while woven baskets bring us that boho happiness we could all use a little more of.
This beautiful foyer was sourced from Margaret Wright Photography.
12. The Happy Place Foyer
Floors & Walls: This is another one of my favorites! I don’t totally know why! I just feel like I will be nurtured completely by the time that I leave this home. Classic and beautiful hardwoods floors contrast wonderfully against these off-white walls.
Features & Furniture: In very simple fashion, we have this adorable little blue painted wooden bench with some cushy little cushions set on top. What more do you need in a foyer? Nothin’!
Decoration: All we get in this simple but perfect foyer are some rather lovely curtains in green that really help elongate the height of the room (even though it’s not that short in the first place) and an adorable little throw pillow. I just love everything about this space. Sue me!
This adorable foyer comes from Denneen Construction, Inc.
13. The Extravaganza Foyer
Floors & Walls: We’re really changing gears with this incredibly extravagant foyer. Brand new limestone tiles make you feel like you’re already standing on the beach, and off-white walls and trim encourage a ton of freedom with decorating.
Features & Furniture: This amazing space starts with a super chunky and rather rustic table that brings some inviting warmth, and two quite odd wooden orb stools! I’ve never seen a piece of furniture like that before but I gotta say, I am a fan.
Decoration: You can tell that you have some cultured folks living in this house with bold pieces of artwork, stacks of books, and funky little structures like a little statue and candle holder. I’m just dying to see what the rest of this house looks like!
This wonderful home design comes from V.I.Photography & Design.
14. The Primary Foyer
Floors & Walls: Wow. This is certainly a beautiful home. Expansive, airy, and bright, this is the type of place you would wanna spend the rest of your life in. Dark hardwood floors bring us that warmth we love, while white walls with gorgeous trim allow for such a feeling of bright serenity.
Features & Furniture: I just adore how you can see right through the home and to the beach in this foyer. It’s a room that makes you feel like you can breathe east. We’ve got a couple of sweet benches to furnish this in between space, one with a high white back and wooden seat, and the other more small, quaint, and antique.
Decoration: Such simple but such effective decorations in this room, with a beautifully woven blue rug, a couple pillows, and a very brightly striped painting. I think where all of the personality comes from is the fact that the doors have been painted such a bold blue. I love it!
This wonderful foyer design comes from Jacob Talbot – Fine Homebuilders.
15. The Beach House Foyer
Floors & Walls: And we’re finishing off this collection with a super fun – almost corny- beach inspired foyer. Sandy colored wood floors match with cream colored walls, but where things get really beachy is the fact that we can see the gorgeous blue color that the awning has been painted. What a smart way to incorporate color without it being directly in the room!
Features & Furniture: This space almost has a museum like feel with its variety of furniture choices, bold, antique, minimal, or boho. Sweet little side tables with interesting framework make way for what is certainly a very eclectic home.
Decoration: I always appreciate it when a home is decorated just by its choices of furniture. Sometimes I get tired of seeing simple and minimal, I love seeing intricate and unique pieces like we do here!
This fantastic foyer idea comes from Bronwyn Poole of Touch Interiors.
