The history of the home is an interesting one. It was once owned by the famous singer, Bing Crosby, and his wife, Dixie Lee, but on January 4, 1943, the home was destroyed by a Christmas tree fire. Reports state that Dixie Lee had been working on removing the lights from the very dried out real Christmas tree when one of the strands of lights sparked, immediately sending the tree up in flames.
Bing and Dixie Crosby went on to purchase another house shortly after the fire but the destroyed mansion was reconstructed eventually on half of the original four acres of land. The other two acres were sold and the newly constructed home was purchased by the famous actor, Andy Griffith, and later on, was owned by Jerry Van Dyke.
Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green purchased the carriage house that was constructed in 1936. It features a rustic look and feel with hardwood floors throughout the house along with exposed beams and a large fireplace that divides the open concept living area. A skylight produces an abundance of natural light for the living area. The skylight was one of many upgrades to the home that were completed in 2008, along with the addition of large windows, new doors, and the installation of granite countertops. Similar to the living room area, the family room of the home also boasts a large fireplace.
The home also offers a game room and private loft along with a swimming pool and spa area. A music room adds even more charm to the home along with a huge master bedroom and primary bathroom as well as a very large closet and dressing room area. The home office very conveniently features built-in bookshelves and a cathedral ceiling.
While Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green were in the midst of their divorce recently, the sold the home that they had purchased for $3.35 million for $2.6 million, which equals a $750,000 loss.
