The thing with ceilings is they can be a combination of styles. As you see above, there are shed ceilings in kitchens with wood beams and of course all kinds of materials, skylights and lighting. One interesting design is the angle butting up into a flat ceiling that extends over the remaining space (i.e. adjacent family room or kitchen area).
