Nice kitchen with shed style ceiling with skylights

The shed ceiling is a great option for a kitchen if you want some ceiling height.  But, you need a specific type of house where there’s no second floor above the kitchen in order to get this type of ceiling.

The shed ceiling is one that angles upward in one plane.  It can be a slight slope or steep.  As you’ll see below, there are many kitchens that incorporate this type of ceiling.

The thing with ceilings is they can be a combination of styles.  As you see above, there are shed ceilings in kitchens with wood beams and of course all kinds of materials, skylights and lighting.  One interesting design is the angle butting up into a flat ceiling that extends over the remaining space (i.e. adjacent family room or kitchen area).
