Nearly half a million people liked this project. I’m not surprised. I love it. It’s very well done. Talk about an impressive transformation from a boring wall with one window into a show-stopping, highly functional wall with faux fireplace, mounted TV and built-in shelving.
Watch the video to see exactly how they did this.

The first part of the project involved framing in where the fireplace, mantel and faux brick wall would go. It also covered up the window. Once the frame was built, the fireplace was inserted, faux brick painted dark gray to the ceiling. Next came the impressive wood mantel and the large screen, wall-mounted TV.
Had they stopped there, it would look but they took it to the next level by adding built-in lower cabinets on each side of the faux fireplace and TV area topped off with floating shelves. Oh yeah, they painted the wall green-beige which goes well with the dark gray.
One of the most impressive touches of the floating shelves is the underlighting they incorporated which casts a nice light downward o the wall from each shelf.
As you can see, this couple added a large wood coffee table and new furniture to finish of the entire room makeover.
My last comment about this room makeover is the interesting decision to keep the large wood mantel natural wood color. All the cabinetry and floating shelves were painted dark gray to match the faux brick and fireplace yet the mantel wasn’t. I think it was the right decision because it contrasts nicely with the rest of the wall.
Yup, I’m a big fan of this wall transformation.
