If you’re into modern design, you already know how satisfying it is to find a beautiful set of chairs or any other furniture that goes with this aesthetic. Well, one TikTok creator, thesorrygirls, shows us how she quite literally found the dining room chairs of her dreams, and how she transformed them for her home.
She said she found the chairs lying in the snow on the ground at her husband’s parent’s cottage. The chairs were just sitting there, and you can already tell as she approached them that they were truly something special. They look like pedestal chairs with bucket-style seats, and the shape of these is just divine.

She took the chairs home and started out by cleaning them thoroughly outside using some soap and water and a large sponge. You can actually see the dirt and grime coming off of the chairs as she scrubs them.
Once the chairs were cleaned and dried, she took them inside and started to patch any gaps, scratches, or nicks using JB Weld putty. She took the putty and molded it into any areas of the chairs where there were cracks (note: she did this process with gloves on). Once the JB Weld is cured, she sanded the chairs by hand using some sandpaper.
Next, the chairs were painted with a brand-new coat of white paint. After the paint dried, she used a clear glossy coat and spray painted it on them to make them nice and shiny. The shininess really adds to the modern look in my humble opinion.
She decided that her new chairs needed some matching seat cushions, so she started by tracing out a template of the seats on a large piece of craft paper. Once the templates were drawn, she cut them out and then used them to cut out the cushions from upholstery foam.
She repeated this process with the fabric and noted that you want to leave a little bit of a border for the fabric so the actual cushions can fit inside. Now, you might need to be handy at sewing or good with a sewing machine to complete this step.
The video then cuts immediately to another piece of furniture: a table. Apparently, she’s working on a complete dining room transformation and this particular video was just part three of the process.

A few people weren’t sure what to make of the chairs, as they definitely have an unusual shape. One user said, “I thought there were four bathroom sinks in the snow at first.”

I agree that these fabulous, unique chairs definitely have a retro vibe. And if I ever stumbled upon them, you had better believe that I would have grabbed them, too! I think these chairs can be quite expensive if you buy them brand-new. So if you’re handy with DIY and making easy fixes to furniture, snagging something like this is definitely a smart move.
I also never thought about patching the cracks with the JB Weld, so that is something I will keep in the back of my mind for the future. Of course, one can only hope to be as lucky as to find such amazing chairs for free! Until then, I will just keep checking out new videos for ideas and inspiration.
