We are excited to present a closer look at another Drury Design creation from our gallery of 13 Diverse Family Rooms from the Drury Design Collection.
This room came from humble beginnings, as a 2,000 square foot open and unfinished space.
Drury Design transformed the room into a contemporary lodge oasis, complete with a bar, an entertaining area, a game room, a music room, a storage center, and a full bathroom.
Their aim was to craft a rustic yet contemporary basement through the use of natural tones and materials, along with clean and sleek lines.
Dark stained maple cabinetry, quartzite countertops, slate-tone textured ledger stone, and porcelain plank floor tile mimicking the look of white-washed hardwood, were used throughout the entire basement, emphasizing the lodge-like feel of the space.
The contemporary hardware and thoughtfully balanced lighting keeps this below-ground basement airy, bright, and up-to-date.
Key custom details, such as a display case for the homeowner’s musical instruments, and lighted cubbies showcasing the finest wines along the back wall of the bar make this basement a true, personally unique getaway within the home.
Multiple seating options and a large refrigerator-equipped bar help make this contemporary and rustic basement perfect for entertaining and relaxing.

Massive L-shaped sectional defines this relaxing space, with a pair of light brown cubic ottomans at center. The porcelain plank floor tiling can be seen throughout, with its white-washed hardwood look. Exposed maple beams overhead aid in the rustic feel.
The fully equipped bar space involves dark maple wood and quartzite countertops framed by four stone brick columns. An array of tan leather bar stools are supplemented by contemporary blue armchairs at right.
The bar cabinetry features stainless hardware beneath quartzite countertops, while sink is backed by a recessed television cove, flanked by inner-lit wine shelving. Glassware can be seen behind rippled glass panel upper cabinet doors.
One of many custom touches, this display case for the owner’s guitar is seated within one of the textured ledger stone columns.
The basement features a full fledged wine storage unit with more of the dark stained maple, set into a wall of the stonework. Internal lighting makes for a grand display.
The basement holds its own private bathroom space, with floating marble topped vanity lit from beneath. Vessel sink and wall-mounted faucet enhance the modern feel, as does the glass enclosed shower at left.
