The architecture of the villa represents the history of its place. The pitched gable roofs of the upper floor are reminiscent of the nearby former brick factory, where clay was burnt from the lake to produce bricks. The linear roof shapes and the conscious use of brick as a local and vernacular material served as inspiration for the project.
The cantilevered elements of the upper floor, with their different positioning, provide both visual privacy and the necessary self-shading of the ground floor. On the ground floor, the villa opens up to the lake and therefore provides space for all the daytime active uses, while the upper floor looks over the lake housing the private rooms, such as sleeping and working.
